What is "YOUR" perfect diet

What is your perfect diet and what is a perfect diet?

What is a diet first of all? A diet is the food you eat on a daily basis. For instance when someone says I am on a diet they are referring to the foods they are currently eating.

Now nine times out of ten they probably mean they are trying to lose some weight. So how does a person choose the right diet for them? Well that depends on many things one being what goal are they trying to reach.

Do they want to lose body fat. Maybe just want to eat healthier so they feel better inside and out. Maybe they want to bulk up and grow themselves some big ole muscles. Depending on what their goal is they then have to look at what body type are they.

A mesomorph, ectomorph or endomorph. Age plays a factor as any of you older people know as I do that when you get older the metabolism slows down and you just can't eat the same as when you were a teen or in your early twenties.

A dieting goal could be longer life

Maybe choosing the right diet for you has nothing directly to do with losing weight. Maybe it is about extending your life.

There have been studies done on the diets some countries eat that actually help these people get to 100yrs more often than most other parts of the world.

One factor that a few different regions of the world shared is that they consumed a lot less calories in a day than the rerst of the world. Less calories means your body doesn't have to work as hard digesting the food and you won't be putting as much toxins in your system etc. One other thing in common is that they did not eat much meat.

I read an article recently that Dr Sanjay Gupta (best known for being CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent) wrote and mentioned 3 countries that out live most of us on average.

Japan was one, Sardinia which is off the coast of Italy and the third one which is actually a province in Canada called Nova Scotia.

Some of the foods they eat are Atlantic Salmon, Tuna (not canned), blueberries, Spinach, Olive oil etc.

The Mesomorph body type

The Mesomorph usually don't have too much trouble gaining muscle and if they want they don't have much trouble losing body fat thanks to a great metabolism.

So chances are if you are reading this you might not be a mesomorph.

Lucky you.

The Ectomorph body type

The Ectomorph is the skinny person that probably has a hard time gaining muscle or a belly for that matter.

So a diet that an Ectomorph might want to learn more about is what they should eat to gain muscle.

To gain muscle they need to consume at least 1.5 grams of protein per lean pound of body weight.

Make sure you are also eating more calories in a day than your body needs to maintain your current weight. I think 500 calories more a day than you need to maintain is sufficient.

The Endomorph body type

The Endomorph is the body type that is prone to be over weight, some might say fat.

If your goal is to shed some body fat then my suggestion is to cut out high glycemic foods. You know those yummy starchy foods most of us like, like potatoes, white rice, corn, white bread etc.

Eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit, fish, chicken, eggs.

Find out what your daily caloric needs are and cut out 500 of those calories a day if you want to lose a pound a week which I think is the safest way to do it.

Your less likely to gain the weight back if you don't get to drastic with cutting your calories.

Finally

I hope I have been able to help you figure out what kind of a diet is right for you.

Whether the diet you pick is to lose weight or maybe to gain weight or quite possibly the main motivator is to prolong your life just remember that is can be done with persistence and consistency.

Also remember to exercise on a regular basis.

Exercise will help you feel better about yourself and will most likely motivate you to stick to your game plan with whichever route you take with your diet.

Good luck.

Calorie counting and dieting plateau

A dieting plateau is when no more weight is being lost during your selected fat loss diet, whether it is low in fat, low in calories or whatever, If your goal is to lose weight, you must eat carefully planned meals. Do not skip meals and snack. Eating nothing does not always equal loss of fat.

The Atkins diet was once hugely popular. This is a low carbohydrate and there are other similar type diets. The main problem with these is, not only are they too strict, they also lower our source of energy which leaves us tired and lethargic. 20 grams of carbohydrates per day is the recommendation, approximately an apple, with the Atkins diet, not nearly enough for the body’s needs. The other similar style diets allow more, but still not enough.

Many of us have woken up one morning, looked in the mirror and decided there and then, that is it, I need to lose weight. Our first reaction is to miss breakfast and have a light snack when hungry. Our body overnight has been starved of food while we sleep and by not eating a substantial breakfast, our metabolism is very slow, thus not burning fat but storing what we eat. When the body is in starvation mode, it cleverly stores fat too feed our bodily organs by holding on to everything we eat. Eat more food = Burn more fat.

The downfall to limiting our intake of food so dramatically is we become tired, irritable and low on energy. You will lose weight doing this but it is not really fat loss. Losing fat and losing weight are different. The weight that is lost is actually water, not fat. As soon as the starvation of the body stops and you begin to eat normally again the body will retain its water (like it should) and you will be in the same position as you were before you started.

Calorie Counting

Counting calories requires a lot of dedication and hard work. Counting your calories doesn’t always help with losing weight but it does give you knowledge and insight to what food contains. While it does help to a certain extent, it is still a matter of what those calories are have come from. Although food is broken down by the body for fuel, some are used immediately for energy, and others are digested slower and stored until required.

Fat free foods are not helpful in losing weight.

Products that are low in fat or half fat are confusing and misleading. Fat is needed by the body and is not necessarily stored as fat.

Try to Keep your blood sugar level constant as this allows your body to burn body fat naturally. Avoiding foods high in sugar is important. High sugar foods will give you a sugar rush pushing up your blood sugar levels for a while and give you a short burst of energy. Unfortunately, the higher your blood sugar spikes, the more the body will produce insulin. Insulin production increases the amount of fat stored and the lower it will drop leaving you with very little or no energy and you will be feeling hungry again.Sugar is a carbohydrate which should be avoided as much as possible. Sugars are converted by the body for energy and ultimately if not used will be stored. It is quite a task to decipher on manufactured wrappers what contains sugar. Avoid artificial sweeteners and diet drinks.

5 Reasons for Women to Start Weight Training

I can't believe how often I still women saying that they don't weight train. It's not that these women don't weight train because they just don't work out at all, no, these are women who exercise regularly but do not find it necessary or important to include weight training in their workout program. Well ladies, that's just nuts. Weight training is the ideal form of exercise to benefit the female body. Any woman hoping to stay strong, lose weight quickly, look toned and shapely, and stay active into her senior years should absolutely be participating in a resistance training workout plan.

1) Boost your metabolism. Women have a harder time than men do losing body fat. The female body wants to hold onto fat, because it still thinks it's starving in the wilderness with a bunch of hungry mouths to feed. Well, while times may have changed, our bodies haven't gotten the memo. Weight training is the perfect solution to our biological disadvantage when it comes to metabolism. Increasing your muscle mass, increases your resting metabolic rate. That means that you'll be burning more calories even while you sleep. And don't worry about getting bulked up. Do you have any idea how hard you'd have to train to build the big bulky muscles you're thinking of? It's not exactly something you can do by accident. If you're still not convinced, just think of it this way. For every pound of muscle you put on your body, that's 30-50 more calories you can eat every single day. I say, pump it up and chow down ladies!

2 ) Improve your posture. Ever noticed how much thinner you look when you stand up straight and suck in your tummy? Resistance training is an easy way to improve your posture and protect your back. As women get older, back pain is one of the most widely reported age related problems. Strengthening your stomach muscles and shoulders is a great way to support your back and keep yourself pain-free for years to come.

Resistance training is also an excellent way to protect your joints from daily wear and tear. Weight training can help to prevent crippling conditions such as arthritis, and it can save you money by helping to prevent you from needing a knee or hip replacement down the road. Muscle is the special equipment your body needs for increased endurance, agility, and balance. Being stronger means you can try new activities with far less fear of injury.

3) Reduce stress and feel better. Those of you familiar with the runner's high shouldn't discount weight training. A good weight training workout can release tension and leave you feeling relaxed and energized. Studies have linked resistance training to improving or decreasing occurrences of depression, and it may even slow the cognitive aging process. Adding resistance training to your weekly workouts may also help you sleep better. Getting enough sleep has, on its own, been linked to weight loss. And as far as self-esteem, few experiences can boost your confidence like lifting more weight than you ever thought you could!

4) Tone up. Weight loss through cardio training can certainly help you lose weight and get skinnier, but weight training is the only kind of exercise that can actually change the shape and proportion of your body. Without resistance training you'll always lose weight in the same spots, but for someone like me with a pear shape, I can use resistance training to balance out my body by building up my shoulders and back. Resistance training can give us a much needed booty lift, and it can even make a woman's bust look bigger and firmer. Best of all, you can begin to see the results of your weight training program even before you really start taking off the fat. In other words, as your muscles start to form, they'll make even your chubbiest parts start to look firmer and shapelier. People will swear you've lost weight, even if you haven't.

5) Prevent Osteoporosis. As women we face the special challenge of protecting our bones from deterioration associated with Osteoporosis. Calcium can help us to build up our bones when we're young, but other than medication, weight training is the only known way to actually increase bone density as we get older. That's right! Weight training makes your bones thicker and stronger. After seeing my grandmothers suffer with Osteoporosis, that's reason enough for me.

Resistance training is an absolutely indispensable tool for women. It improves our bodies and our well being in countless ways. If you've never weight trained before start slowly. We're lucky these days. There are literally thousands of DVDs, websites, books, and magazines available that can help you to put together your very first resistance training routine. So start lifting yourself healthy!

How to fool your Metabolism

How do I raise my Metabolism?

Do you find it difficult to lose weight ? Or have you lost weight for a short time, but then you pile the pounds back on again ?
As you get older weight loss is even harder to achieve - so we need to increase our metabolic rate. Metabolism is the process by which our body distributes nutrients from the food that we consume. Basal Metabolism, which provides the energy required to maintain our vital functions, requires around 65% of our total calorie intake. 25% of our calorie intake is used for physical exertions and 10% for the processing of food.
Each individual person has a different metabolic rate and this is affected by age, general health and our level of physical activity. We all know people who seem to eat what they want without putting on a pound - they have a high metabolic rate.
The basic formula for losing weight is to increase the number of calories we expend and to reduce the number of calories we take in. Eating 3 small meals a day while doing at least 20 minutes of exercise should be your main aim. Skipping meals will lower your metabolic rate and this is not to be recommended. Your diet should contain high quality protein, fresh fruit and vegetables and high-fibre grains. For exercise, it is better to do resistance training along with your aerobic activities as muscles burn more calories than fat. Bear in mind that any exercise which increases the heart rate wil boost your metabolism for several hours after you have finished the activity
What things must you avoid when trying to lose weight ? A lack of sleep will lower you metabolic rate and can only give a bad outcome. Diet pills are for short-term weight loss and are to be avoided in any long-term plan. Many people trying to lose weight will just concentrate on exercising the fat zone. DON'T, Always look for an all over workout for the best results. Finally, some diets restrict calories a little too much. This will lower the rate of metabolism and will affect the balance of your body. Also make sure you have a good level of hydration by taking in a reasonable amount of water. Dehydration leads to a lower metabolic rate.
A good way to build up your metabolism is to lift weights at least twice a week. When you feel ready, increase the number of repetitions and eventually add to the level od resistance (lift bigger weights). Bodyweight exercises such as squats and push-ups are also to be recommended. As for Cardiovascular exercise, interval training is preferable to the steady state method. For example, when I am on my exercise bike I like to pedal hard for 15 seconds and then rest for 45 seconds. Try repeating this pattern for at least 5 minutes and then increase as you feel fitter.
As you get older it is very important to take good care of your body. The best way to do this is to eat a healthy diet and take regular exercise. If you can follow this advice then you should be able to raise your metabolism and lose weight quickly and safely.

Accelerating the Metabolism to Lose Weight

Trying to get into shape

If you are trying to get into shape or just to keep up with good health, then you are probably familiar with the benefits of a healthy diet and fitness routine. A healthy diet can help you to drop off weight and keep up a healthy body mass, while a regular exercise routine can tone your body. This is because diet and exercise play a crucial part in regulating your body's metabolism. But, is it possible to accelerate the metabolism to lose weight?

First, what is metabolism?

Metabolism is the physical process by which our bodies convert calories from food into energy. Our body's metabolism is working all of the time while you are exercising, while you are eating, and even while you are sleeping. Metabolism alone does not decide your weight. Instead, weight dependents on the balance of calories consumed versus the calories burned. Eat more calories than you need then you gain weight. Eat fewer calories than you need then you lose weight. So, Yes, it is possible accelerating the metabolism to lose weight.

How does metabolism work?

According to experts, our bodies get all of its energy from plant and animal products that we ingest. After we eat, our bodies break down the different components into energy that it can use to run different processes. These types of energy are then absorbed into our bloodstream and transported to all of the different cells in our body to help run all of our body's processes. Any excess energy is then stored by your body as muscle or fat so that it can be used in the future.

Factors affecting metabolism and what you can't control about your metabolism

There are a number of different factors affecting metabolism. The most important factor is the amount of lean muscle mass that your body contains. Lean muscle mass burns energy all of the time, even when you are not actively working out. The more lean muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolism will be.

Other factors affecting metabolism include:

Age: As you age, your metabolism naturally slows down. Expect your metabolism to decline every decade after the age of 20.This is because the body loses lean muscle mass over the years, so we get older, we tend to lose muscle and gain body fat. Lean muscle mass is more metabolically active than fat tissue. So when you lose muscle mass, your metabolism slows down.

Gender: Men have naturally higher levels of lean muscle mass. Men generally have faster metabolisms than women because they’re larger and have less body fat.

Height: Taller people tend to have a more active metabolism and need more calories in order to keep energized.

Genetics: Your genetic history will play a role in your metabolism. Some families have a naturally high metabolism, while others have a naturally low metabolism.

Accelerating the metabolism to lose weight

You may be interested in accelerating the metabolism to lose weight. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Have a healthy breakfast every day: Experts say that people who regularly eat a healthy breakfast within two hours of rising are more likely to control their weight.

Eat every 3 to 4 hours: Do not skip meals as this will trick your metabolism into starvation mode. Instead focus on eating three healthy meals a day, and at least two snacks. Our bodies work hard to digest and absorb the foods we eat, and your metabolism speeds up in response. Take full advantage of this and schedule meals and snacks every 3 to 4 hours.

Foods that increase the metabolism

Eat protein with every meal: Eating protein gives your body a bigger metabolic boost than eating carbohydrates or fats. Plus, eating enough protein will ensure you’ll maintain and build muscle mass.

Foods that speed up metabolism include: beef, chicken, wheat germ and spinach, grains, fruits and vegetables, low-fat milk, yogurt, and cheese, eggs, fish and shellfish, apples, nuts and beans, coffee and tea.

Foods that speed up metabolism with the aid of vitamins embrace all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Including fruits and vegetables into your diet will help you lose weight faster.

Fortified cereals are among the most common foods that speed up metabolism due to high content of folic acid. Folic acid speeds up metabolism in the body, strengthens the immune system and cleanses the body.

Incorporate some of these foods into your diet and your body will start burning calories faster.

Exercising to accelerating the metabolism

Exercise: It is essential that you increase your amount of lean muscle mass if you want to speed up metabolism. Concentrate on playing strength exercises in order to build your muscle. Do those exercises with regular aerobics programs, which will help you to burn excess fat and calories. Exercise also plays a key role in determining the rate at which your metabolism will work.

Exercise helps to increase metabolism in two ways: burns calories and creates muscle mass. As you exercise, your body loses excess fat and begins to lay down increased amounts of lean muscle mass. This is particularly true of strength training exercises, such as weight-lifting and resistance exercises. Because muscle burns more calories than fat, exercise is a natural way to increase your metabolism because your metabolism will remain elevated for up to 12 hours after you exercise.

Do aerobic exercises four to five days a week, such as running, walking, swimming and bike riding. It burns calories and increases metabolism while you are working out. Studies demonstrate that aerobic activities cause that metabolism to stay at an elevated level for a period of time after you have finished exercising. Work in strength exercise two to three days a week.

The bottom line:

The healthy and most effective way to accelerating the metabolism to lose weight is to eat an appropriate amount of food every 3 to 4 hours, incorporate a portion of lean protein into each meal, and exercise regularly. Good luck!

Green Tea For Fat Loss

Green Tea, an alternative fat loss option

In our quest for our body transformation, there are two ways to lose weight -- either reduce energy intake, or increase energy expenditure.

Another way of increasing energy expenditure or increasing metabolism is the consumption of green tea.

In a study reported on in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it was found that green tea extract resulted in a significant increase in energy expenditure (a measure of metabolism), plus also had a significant effect on fat oxidation. While some of the effects were originally theorized to be due to the caffeine content of green tea, the researchers discovered that the tea actually has properties that go beyond those that would be explained by the caffeine.

The same amount of caffeine as was in the green tea, administered alone, failed to change energy expenditure in other studies. This led reseachers to believe that there is some interaction going on with the active ingredients of green tea that promotes increased metabolism and fat oxidation.

So, you have it. With a good nutrition and exercise plan and the consumption of green tea, you can surely go a long way with your fat loss regime.

How to Burn Fat Quick with a Good Breakfast

Why burning fat is done best with a good breakfast

Est. Reading Time: 5 minutes

If you want an easy effective way to burn fat, then breakfast is the key. A hugely misunderstood concept is that skipping a meal is a good way to lose weight. This is wrong, and there are many studies out there that show that if you regularly eat a healthy breakfast, and combine this with better nutritional eating habits will weigh less than those who completely skip out breakfast.
So why is this, and what are the best ways to have a good breakfast and improve your rate of burning fat?

If you are trying to lose fat then your aim is to try and burn off more calories. The best way to do this is not to starve your body, but to increase your metabolism so you can burn more fat and calories throughout the day. When you sleep your body winds down and this includes the speed it burns calories. Your body needs something to kick start it in the morning. When you have a good breakfast you feel better and more active throughout the morning at work etc. Not only that but without this boost your metabolism will stay slow throughout the day and any extra calories you then eat later on will not be processed as quickly, so they will then be stored as fat. If you eat a healthy breakfast then your body "wakes up" its metabolism and is set for the day.
Ideally breakfast needs to be eaten within an hour of waking up. If you do not have the time, get up 10 minutes before and make time! Don't press that snooze button! Not only does this mean an extra 10 minutes doing something, spending time with family etc, but if you eat a high fibre and high protein meal your metabolism gets kicked into gear, whilst your brain activity switches on meaning more energy and alertness throughout the day for you. The more energy you have, the more fat you can burn as you are being more active.

So what can you eat to kick start your day and fat loss

CEREAL CEREAL CEREAL! Get a nice bowl of your favourite cereal. There are many high fibre low sugar cereals out there that taste great! You do not need to eat cardboard anymore to get the healthy option. Cereals are quick to prepare, yet are full of nutrients. They are a great choice for losing fat and eating healthily. Try to find cereals that have less than 8g of sugar and over 5g of fibre.

Fresh fruit is a great breakfast choice, whether on its own or with cereal. They have good sugars and fats which being whole foods make a lot of sense as a breakfast. Think of fruit like bananas which give you energy throughout the day!

Scrambled egg whites with wholemeal bread. Healthy, quick and tasty this is a favourite for the breakfast table. Tip, try spice it up with some hot sauce for an extra kick.

Summary

Remember if you are interested in fat loss, and burning off that extra weight then you need to start the day right with a good breakfast! Once you have done it is worth following a good program like Holly Rigsby's Yummy Mummy course which, not just for mums, is designed to burn fat fast to get your body back how you want it. Highly recommended and its free to try.

Lose Weight by Eating

Eating the Right Foods

The most effective way to lose weight is by eating. That is

correct, lose weight by eating. Eating the right foods in a pre-

planned manner that directs the type of calories burned on a

per meal basis. Calories, of course, are the fuel source you

body needs to function on. Calories that you don't consume end

up stored as FAT.

In order to achieve this you must change your eating habits.

This modification will be essential because of the way our

metabolism is intended to work. We all fall into general eating

habits or patterns that the metabolism becomes accustomed

to processing. This habit or pattern presents the metabolism

with the same variety of calorie intake day after day. This

calorie intake not only has become acknowledged by our

metabolism, it is expected. Consequently, a change in eating

habits is necessary because you need to throw your metabolism

into a state of turmoil to make it burn fat it hasn't been consum-

ing.

How?

There are three types of calories. Those are proteins, fat,

and carbohydrates. We are going to redirect the calories

resulting from the protein and carbohydrates. Forget about the

fat for the time being.

Your protein calories will come from four types of food. First

are deli meats, ham, beef, turkey, and chicken. Second are

fish, flounder, bass, tuna, and tilapia. Next are diary products,

eggs, cheese, and cottage cheese. The last group is mixed

nuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, and peanuts. The

carbohydrate calories will come from bread, preferably bran or

oat; and any combination of mixed vegetables, fresh or frozen.

Salads should be comprised solely of vegetables and only with

low calorie dressing. The final group is fruit, plums, any type

of berry, apricots, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, and pears.

Now, equipped with this information, is where we start direct-

ing calories to throw your metabolism into chaos. Remember

the metabolism is expecting to be supplied based upon your

past eating habits and it burns calories based upon anticipation

of this. So, to alter this, you are going to eat four meals a day.

You're thinking - "What? I'm trying to lose weight!" Understood,

and you will. Your metabolism burns calories on a per meal

basis, not a daily calorie intake. Eating one more meal a day

will start your body to burn more calories because it does burn

calories on a per meal basis. More meals, less calories per meal,

means you're burning more calories per day than you used

to = lose weight by eating.

Naturally, there are some rules to this. Spread the meals out

evenly throughout the day. Don't eat right before going to bed;

your last meal should be 2-3 hours before bedtime. Figuring that

most of us don't jump up and eat breakfast immediately and also

you should be sleeping 8 hours a day, this means eating a meal

every three hours give or take 15-30 minutes in order to do this

Remember, you must have a preset plan for what foods to eat

to burn more calories by manipulating your metabolism.

3 Things You Must Know About The Fastest Way to Lose Weight

If you’re struggling to lose weight then you need to learn these 3 things to help you reach your goal.

You can speed up your efforts by knowing how to fuel your body, what your workouts might be lacking and how your body works.

By the end of this article you’ll be 3 steps closer to the slim, sexy body you’ve always wanted.

Fuel Your Metabolism

You may have heard it before, but you really should be eating smaller meals every day.

If you eat six small meals a day, instead of 3 large meals, you can help boost your metabolism.

And a boosted metabolism is the fastest way to lose weight.

You don’t want your metabolism to slow down because it has to wait for your next feast.

Keep your body fueled with healthy meals consistently and you’ll never feel hungry and your body will be running at its full capacity at all times.

There’s also another way you can boost your metabolism.

Hit The Weights

If you want to lose weight quickly then doing workouts that only include cardio probably isn’t your best bet.

You want to add weight training to your workouts because muscle actually burns more calories than fat does, even if you’re resting!

And ladies, don’t worry about "bulking up"… unless you’re using some kind of illegal substance then you will never become bulky from weightlifting.

As an added bonus, weightlifting will also help make your bones stronger.

But you need to make sure that you’ve set a realistic goal.

Focus On Your Body As A Whole

It would be great if you could point to one spot on your body and melt the fat just from that area with a specialized workout, but you can’t!

Think of your body fat as one solid layer that’s really thin in some areas and thicker in others.

When you burn fat your body burns it from the whole layer.

So if you want to lose fat from your stomach, hips or some other random area then you need to focus on a total body workout, not just that specific area.

If you set up a total body approach that includes interval training, 6 small meals a day and weight training then you WILL eventually lose the fat from that problem area.

This is a proven approach for achieving fast weight loss. If you keep your metabolism fueled by frequently eating and hitting the weights then you’ll speed up the fat burning process for your whole body, including your problem areas. You now know the fastest way to lose weight and can reach your weight loss goals at ease.

NATURAL WEIGHT LOSS PROCESS:Lose Weight, The Natural Way!

Lose Weight, The Natural Way!

As of today, there are several weight loss tips and regimen to consider for an easy and natural way to lose weight. But below are the best resources for me.
Consider my three chosen weight loss tips:
Understand these 3 important basic body cycles.( Elimination: Appropriation: Assimilation)

Eating vegetarian foods or fruit.
Understand BMR or basic metabolic rates.

Try to implement natural weight loss by understanding these 3 important basic body cycles.

Elimination: Appropriation: Assimilation , each cycle runs for about 8 hours long
Elimination happens in the body during 4am (morning) till 12pm (noontime).
Appropriation which is digestion happens between 12pm (noontime)until 8pm(evening)
While Assimilation or the absorption of nutrients in intestine happens at around 8p up to 4am (early morning).

Obviously, our body cannot process 2 different cycles at the same time. Our body cannot eliminate while it is digesting.
Take for instance, if you eat your breakfast of cooked foods or vegetables at 8-10am, your body will stop its elimination process and start its digestion process, thereby hampering the cycle which is not a great way if you wanted to lose weight faster and a lot easier.

Another great way to have a fast weight loss is by eating vegetarian foods or fruits instead of the usual cooked meals or non-vegetarian foods.
Fruits are easily digested, they are sent to the intestines at a faster rate of 20mins. Once it entered the stomach, the longer will be the banana which has 45mins time interval.
Fruits are made-up of units of glucose called the fructose, and are 80-90% water. Fructose is easily converted to glucose which in turn is used to fuel the body for energy.
Eating vegetables on the other hand especially the raw ones are great sources of Vitamins, Minerals, amino acids, glucose and fatty acids which are needed by the body. Vegetables don’t cause deposits of waste hence they do not increase the body mass to make it gain weight.

Understand BMR or basic metabolic rates. It is also important and helpful if you know how many calories you need to burn. In order for us to lose weight fast and easy, we need to know how many calories we need to burn, and understand how metabolism works for each one of us.
According to some research and experts, metabolism is the amount of calories we burn. This must be known since every individual have different metabolic rate.
Metabolism varies from person to person, i.e., metabolism is faster among men, children, pregnant women, those that exercise as well as those who have genetics related to fast burning of calories.
Those with faster metabolic rate because of their genetic capabilities may mean that if they are compared to a person of the same weight, structure or same amount of muscle mass, they will have a faster metabolic rate due to their genes.

Factors that increases our Metabolic Rates
Those persons suffering from diseases such as hyperthyroidism.
Person with fever.
People with stress, which is only true for those who are experiencing acute stress, since energy requirements increases. But let us understand that NOT ALL stress related issues are helpful in the increase of metabolic rate.

During chronic stress, the metabolic rate slackens because of its negative effect due to chronic hormonal imbalance or disturbances.
Chronic stress affects metabolism, increasing the tendency for abdominal obesity. Follow steady life routine daily- sleep well, eat properly, because if the body gets disturbances or disorganized, metabolism slows down.

Smokers and those who consume coffee, tea that stimulates the sympathetic system contributes to the increase in metabolic rate.
The easiest and healthiest way to increase our metabolic rate is through exercise. If we exercise, we also double the benefits we get, through exercise- the tendency to increase our muscle mass as well as burn more calories also increases.

How to Lose Belly Fat When You Supercharge Your Metabolism

Burn more calories 24/7 when you use the plan to supercharge your metabolism.

Turn up the burn and get those six pack abs!

There’s nothing mysterious or complicated about metabolism. It’s simply the amount of energy (aka calories) that our body needs every day. About 70% of these calories are used for basic functions, like breathing and circulating the blood. Another 20% is used as fuel for physical activity, which includes working out, fidgeting, walking and even holding our bodies upright. The remaining 10% is used to digest the food we eat. The problems begin when we consume more calories than our body needs to do these things. That’s when our weight begins to creep up.

The speed of your metabolism is partly due to genetics. Genes contribute to the number of appetite-control hormones we have. Some people are genetically programmed to be active; they’re naturally restless and use more energy. Those are the lucky ones with a high-metabolism.

Gender also plays a role. Men generally have a metabolism about 10 to 15 percent higher than women; mainly because they have more muscle mass, which means they burn more calories. As unfair as it seems, women’s bodies are designed to hold on to body fat. Muscle naturally burns more calories than fat, so men will tend to have a higher metabolism.

The good news is you can speed up your metabolism despite genetics and gender. Here are 10 simple secrets to boosting your metabolism big-time. These weight loss tips will keep your metabolism burning at its peak for ultimate fat loss.

1.  Exercise more often –

Exercise is the number one way to keep your metabolism cranking. Exercise creates lean muscle, and the more lean muscle you have, the more calories you burn all day. That’s because muscle burns calories even while you’re at rest. With sufficient exercise, you can prevent the natural metabolic slow-down that begins to occur as you age. This natural slow-down can start as early as your late twenties!

2.  Bump up the cardio –

Aerobic intervals will help you maximize your metabolic rate and double the number of calories you burn during a workout. Interval training keeps your metabolic rate burning higher than a steady-paced routine for up to an hour after you’ve finished your workout. The ideal interval routine for boosting metabolism is to go hard for a couple of minutes, then slow to an easier pace for a minute or two, keep alternating between the two intensities throughout your workout.

3.  Use your muscles –

Many women avoid the weight machines because they worry about bulking up and building muscles, or they avoid working their arms altogether and stick with working only their legs. A compete strength training routine will turbocharge your calorie burning potential. Choose a weight lifting routine that targets your core, arms, legs, chest and shoulders. Working numerous muscles will help your body burn more calories.

4.  Don’t skip meals –

The simple act of eating actual kicks your metabolism into gear. The more often you eat, the more you rev up your metabolism. Conversely, skipping a meal or going too long between meals can bring your metabolism down to a crawl. Your body sees the long gap between meals as a threat and goes into starvation mode; your system slows down to conserve energy. Three healthy meals and two snacks will keep your metabolism humming along and burning calories. Just be sure to choose your food wisely.

5.  Fill up on smart food –

Start each meal and snack with a protein. Not only does protein help your body build lean muscle, it also takes more calories to digest. Low-fat yogurt at breakfast, chicken added to your lunch-time salad and salmon for dinner, all make excellent choices. Try a few protein-rich walnuts for a between meal snack. They contain omega-3 fatty acids

Increase the foods you eat that slowly release sugar needed for energy; high-fiber fruits and vegetables, and whole-grain pastas and breads. Eating a food high in fiber three hours before your workout will also help you burn extra fat.

Sipping coffee can also help. Caffeine stimulates the production of adrenaline, which can speed up your metabolism. Research has shown that caffeine can significantly speed up your metabolic burn. Limit your caffeine intake to just two cups, ironically, too much caffeine can overtax your system resulting in fatigue.

6.  Eat breakfast –

Eating breakfast will signal your metabolism to switch on after a night of rest. That’s because your level of cortisol, a stress hormone, is at its highest just before you get up in the morning. Cortisol also helps you use calories to build muscle. When you eat in the morning, your body is at its peak to turn those calories into muscle – this is the only time of the day when this happens. Take advantage of this natural fat burning process.

7.  Get up off your butt –

Sitting too much slows your metabolism, even if you exercise regularly. Many of us sit in front of a computer all day, an easy way to keep your metabolism from slowing is to get up regularly to stretch and walk around. Scientists call this NEAT, or nonexercise activity thermogenesis, and it can boost your metabolism helping you to burn more calories and lose weight. Take advantage of every opportunity to walk and climb stairs, it can make a big difference.

8.  Go to bed –

When you deprive yourself of sleep you body responds by producing more cortisol which in turn triggers your appetite. At the same time, the lack of sleep has thrown your hunger hormones leptin and ghrelin out of whack making you more likely to overeat.

9.  Schedule an evening workout –

By doing a 20 to 30 minute moderate intensity cardio routine in the evening you can help keep your metabolism running smoothly all night. If you exercise at least two and a half hours before going to bed, the activity shouldn’t keep you awake.

10.  Check your medications –

Some medications like birth control pills, or antidepressants, can cause a significant drop in your metabolic rate. These drugs often slow metabolism because they affect the thyroid gland which regulates how our body uses energy, or calories. If you’ve recently started taking a new medication and notice you’re putting on weight, talk to your doctor to see if there are any alternatives that would be less likely to cause you to gain weight.

For Those Of You Who Are Tired Of Playing The Diet Game

Losing weight fast is dangerous, so do so with doctors advice, but I have found a way that worked for me and I lost 24 pounds in one month. If you want to lose weight, the first consideration is to do so naturally. Using diet pills or starvation diets can be harmful and most do not last and you gain the weight back. Fad diets are even worse. There is no long term studies on most fad diets and they usually only work for a small segment of the population.

Calorie shifting has become an old, but resurfaced diet that has been working for almost everyone who has tried it. When I started this diet I was about 260 pounds and my over 40 spare tire was taking on some unusual shapes. Now I am happy with myself and the weight has stayed off. Instead of burning calories by exercising (which you are suppose to be doing anyway) calorie shifting kick starts your metabolism and helps you burn more energy with less effort. The new diet has me more energetic and I even need less sleep now that I have burned off those extra pounds.

Calorie shifting is successful because it gives you the right foods to eat at specific times of the day and rotating the food selection so your metabolism does not get used to the same dietary routines. This allows your metabolism to be always on high as it shifts to meet the new foods you introduce into your system. You don’t have to look at calorie count or the loss of food groups in your diet. This is a life style change that will allow you to keep the weight off. This has worked for me so I thought I would pass it along to the people who are tired of fighting the weight battle.

Metabolism Boosters:How To Speed Up Your Metabolism

Why do you need to know about metabolism boosters? Are you trying to lose weight? If you want to know how to lose weight fast then you need to know how to speed up your metabolism.
According to How To Boost Your Metabolism, Metabolism, is the process of transforming food (e.g. nutrients) into fuel (e.g. energy). The body uses this energy to conduct a vast array of essential functions. Your metabolic rate is the speed at which this occurs. When your metabolic rate is slow, the food gets stored as fat, causing you to gain weight instead of lose it.
Luckily for most of us it is possible to speed up metabolism helping us to lose weight more quickly.

How to Speed Up Your Metabolism

The following are metabolism boosters that will help you speed up metabolism:
1.  Drink plenty of water.  Not only does water help flush out toxins that are polluting our insides, but not enough water can cause our body system's operations to decrease in speed producing unneeded stress as a result.  Most of our bodily functions involves water.

2.  Try to eat every three to four hours or at least four times a day.  When you eat more often it stabilizes your blood sugar.  If your blood sugar drops too low it will make you want to eat a lot.  If you keep your blood sugar stable you will be able to control your appetite and keep your metabolic rate high.  If you go too many hours without eating, your body may compensate by slowing down to conserve energy which will only hurt your efforts to lose weight fast.

3.  Get plenty of sleep.  According to what experts tell us, getting enough sleep actually improves your metabolism.  When you don't  get enough sleep you will have less energy to do daily activities.  Your body will not have the strength to break down food efficiently.

How To Speed Up Your Metabolism With Exercising

Certain kinds of exercises are great metabolism boosters, along with the way you exercise over all. The following are tips to speed up metabolism through exercise.

1. Weight lifting is at the top of the list when it comes to metabolism boosters. A pound of muscle burns more calories than a pound of fat. So the more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn. You don’t even have to do anything. You’ll simply burn more calories, because muscle requires more of an energy investment. In order to get the maximum effect, weight lifting should be done correctly and at regular intervals. Don't worry about bulging up on muscle mass, As long as you don't use muscle building supplements you should be fine.

2. Do interval training during cardiovascular(aerobic) exercise. Interval training only works when it’s at intervals. The metabolism-boosting benefits you enjoy as a result of interval training are primarily due to the fact that your body suddenly, needs to find more energy.

Metabolism Boosting Foods

There are certain foods that increase metabolism more than others.  Though it has been said that all foods are metabolism boosting foods, some foods can speed up metabolism more than others.

Carbohydrates and protein trigger the highest rate of metabolism. In fact, a protein meal can burn as much as 25% of that meal's calories through digestion and absorption.

Eating well-balanced meals regularly that contain protein, non-starchy vegetables, fats and carbohydrates can minimize fat production while keeping your blood sugar at a level that helps to burn fat and build muscle.
The following are metabolism boosting foods that increase metabolism:
Whole grain bread
Chicken
Salmon
Eggs
Fresh Cheese
Green Beans
Summer Squash
Cabbage
Asparagus and other non-starchy vegetables
And, of course, protein rich meats
To temporarily boost your metabolism by as much as 30%, drink cold water.

How to lose weight fast in a healthy way

How to achieve lasting weight loss

There are a variety of ways to lose weight. If you start to do exercises regularly and reduce your food intake, it’s easy to lose some pounds fast in the short term. In the long term, you may try the following ways to achieve lasting weight loss success:

1 - Stay away from overweight friends, while you are trying to lose weight.

It might be not nice to make this suggestion. It seems cruel and discriminatory for your overweight friends. However, if you always stay with overweight people, they may influence you in a negative way: you may eat more, spend less time exercising or even abandon your weight loss goals. Instead, you should spend more time with skinny people. They can teach you how to choose the healthy low-calorie foods from the market; you can learn some low-carbohydrate recipes; you can learn how to schedule your daily activities more reasonably as to maximize your metabolism.

2 - Find a second job to keep yourself busy.
Why are you overweight? Let's be honest! Do you always enjoy the long evenings in front of TV, while holding a big bag of high-fat chips in the your hand? Or you love to enjoy restaurant food with your friends each weekend?
If you want to achieve lasting weight-loss success, you’d better stop filling your leisure time with food. You may find a part-time work (paid or volunteer) to keep you busy. For example, you can start to write for Helium.com and keep your fingers busy with the computer keyboard instead of reaching out for unhealthy snacks.

3 - Find your favorite exercises.

As experts recommend, one important trick to achieve lasting weight-loss success is to exercise regularly. In order to guarantee the regular frequency of your workouts, you’d better figure out which exercises that really interest you.

Besides, you don’t have to limit yourself to certain exercises. You can change your exercises each week so that you won’t get bored easily with a simple workout program. Changing your exercise program frequently can effectively train different parts of muscles on your body.

When you feel energetic and dynamic, you can do some high energy-consuming aerobic exercises, such as jogging outdoor, playing beach volleyball or aerobic dancing. When you feel tired, you can go to swim or do some yoga exercises which can help you relax your tight muscles.

Lose Weight Fast With Oolong Tea

Difference between green tea and oolong tea

All tea, whether they are called black tea, white tea, green tea or oolong tea, are made from the leaves of the same plant called the Camellia sinensis or the tea plant. While all tea plants originated from the same plant species, local growing conditions such as altitude, climate, and soils conditions, can result in distinctive leaves. But the differences between the types of tea come from the different ways the leaves are processed that gives the individual characteristics of each of the four tea: green, white, black and oolong.

The process of fermentation or oxidation produces the different types of tea. Green tea is from un-oxidized tea leaves; black tea is fully oxidized leaves; and oolong is semi-oxidized leaves. Oxidation makes the tea leaves turn dark when exposed to the air. Oolong tea is fermented anywhere from 10% to about 75%.

Fresh tea leaves are high in catechins, powerful antioxidant compounds. Processing the tea reduces these levels, so the more the tea is oxidized the lower the catechin levels. This means that green tea has higher levels of catechins that oolong tea. In addition, as the levels of catechins decrease during oxidation, the levels of other beneficial chemicals such as theaflavins and thearubigins increase.

Benefits of green tea

Green tea health benefits

Green tea is the second most consumed beverage, after water, in the world and its numerous health benefits from regular consumption is well known. Because green tea leaves are not oxidized, the polyphenols, antioxidant compounds that are responsible for the recognized health benefits of tea are left intact.

Green tea has antioxidants that reduce blood pressure and cholesterol. It may also protect against heart disease, and decrease the incidence of many types of cancer, including prostate and breast cancers. Green tea is loaded with a potent catechin, or antioxidant, called Epigallocatechin 3-gallate or Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is believed to account for most of the green tea benefits.

Recent study also found that drinking a cup of green tea after meals helps reduce incidents of cavities and gum disease because the polyphenols kill the bacteria responsible.

Green tea and weight loss

The green tea weight loss diet is widely used and is a natural and one of the safest weight loss aides available today to help you lose weight. Green tea is often called a weight loss tea. The tea is known for its thermogenics properties. Thermogenic helps the body to oxidize and burn fat. Thermogenics boost the body's metabolism and make the body burn more fuel. Supplemented with a low carbohydrate diet, the energy to fuel the higher metabolism caused by green tea will come from fats due to the limited ready carbohydrates as fuel.

A major component in green tea is EGCG, or Epigallocatechin gallete, which is responsible for green tea’s thermogenic properties. It can also help reduce your appetite, and in turn reduce the craving to over eat. In addition to be a fat burner, green tea also appears to inhibit the storage of excess fat into fat cells. Research data suggests that an average person need to drink five cups of green tea a day to burn an extra 70 extra calories per day from the effect of the thermogenics.

Benefits of oolong tea

Oolong tea health benefits

Oolong tea, also called wu long tea or wulong tea, is not as popular a drink as green tea. Oolong tea is the tea usually served at Chinese restaurants. Both green tea and oolong tea contain catechins, or antioxidant compounds, that help fight off disease and stop the aging process. It was generally believed that fermentation or oxidation of tea reduced antioxidant levels and thus lowering the beneficial properties of tea.

However, new research indicates that while un-oxidized green tea has higher levels of catechins then oxidized oolong tea, green tea also has lower levels of other beneficial chemicals such as theaflavins and thearubigins, while oxidization increase the level of these chemicals in oolong tea and black tea.

Theaflavins and thearubigins, which have anti-allergy, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties, are found in higher concentrations in oolong and black tea than in green tea. Oolong has been shown effective in lowering the level of LDL (bad) cholesterol. Oxidization also lowers the caffeine content in oolong tea.

Oolong tea and weight loss

Oolong tea is distinct to be the new weight loss tea for those people looking to lose weight fast. In addition to providing some of the health benefits of green tea, oolong tea is a better weight loss aid than green tea. Recent research data show that oolong tea to be more effective a fat burner that green tea. Oolong tea boost body metabolism 2 ½ times more than green tea and therefore provide for faster weight loss. Oolong tea also has the ability to block the up take of fats and carbohydrates that result in weight gain.

If you want to drink tea for the sole purpose of losing weight, then oolong tea would be your first choose over green tea. However, if you are looking for tea to help you lose weight and improve your over-all health, it seems logical to drink both teas to increase the fat burner effect and the benefits of the catechins, polyphenols, theaflavins and thearubigins.

History of tea

Black tea, white tea, green tea and oolong tea are all made from the leaves of the same species of plants called the Camellia sinensis, or the tea plant. The plant is believed to have been originally cultivated in China over 5,000 years ago. Learn about how two changed the world.
