Cabbage Soup Diet - An Easy Way to Lose Weight

The cabbage soup diet is a quick weight loss diet based on consumption of a low-calorie cabbage soup over a week. It is by and large considered a fad diet, in that it is intended for short-term weight-loss and needs no long-term dedication.

The typical claimed target of the diet is to lose around 10 pounds or 4.5 kilos of weight in seven days, despite the fact that dietary experts point out that it is virtually impossible to lose that much fat in a week. This has lent credibility to claims that much of the weight lost is water.

That said, losing even half that weight in a week can act as motivation and a kick start to losing even more weight. You will need to have a long-term plan to keep moving in the direction of your weight target, but the cabbage soup diet is a great way to start.

The 7 Day Plan

Day 1: Cabbage soup and all the fruit you want except bananas.

Day 2: Cabbage soup, all the low-calorie vegetables you want and a baked potato for supper.

Day 3:  Cabbage soup and a mixture of fruit and vegetables.

Day 4: Cabbage soup, up to eight bananas, and two glasses of skimmmed milk.

Day 5:  Cabbage soup, up to 20 ounces of beef, chicken or fish, up to six fresh tomatoes.

Day 6: Cabbage soup, all the beef you want and unlimited vegetables.

Day 7:  Cabbage soup, brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices, and unlimited vegetables.
