Ice Cream for Weight Loss?

Really? A Weight Loss Ice Cream?

I'm so excited right now.

I'm a writer and I've lost a lot of weight in the past. Naturally, this means that I tend to gravitate towards writing articles about weight loss. One of the big things that I always joke about is that "no one has yet created the eat-nothing-but-ice-cream-and-lose-weight-diet."

Until now!

OK, it's not really that. But this morning, I got an email from someone telling me about this protein ice cream. It's apparently a protein powder and you mix it up and then freeze it. The ads say that it tastes like real ice cream, which I'm sure is total bunk, but it might not be too bad.

There's a free trial, so I'm going to check it out and report back once I get my free samples.

Fitting Ice Cream Into Your Diet

Truth be told, it's not like you have to totally give up ice cream if you're on a diet. Well, maybe unless ice cream is a trigger food for you and once you start eating it, you go on to eat the rest of the house. Ice cream can fit into a reasonable diet--you just can't eat too much of it.

Some people like to follow diets where they eliminate a whole group of foods, like carbohydrates in the Atkins diet or all junk foods on the Eat Clean Diet or cooked foods on a raw diet. I've tried to do that and I just can't handle it. When I say that I can't eat a certain food, I find that I just crave that food even more, til I finally give up on my diet.

What's always worked for me is calorie counting. I've tracked my calories online and then I can work out how to "fit in" a treat whenever I want one. For example, if I eat a low calorie breakfast and lunch, then I can splurge a bit on dinner. Or have some ice cream or chips (my weakness) as a treat. That's what works with me.

Of course, in the process of doing so, I make healthier choices, so it works out good. I also just general feel better about myself.

What works for you?

Free Weight Loss Ice Cream Sample

Here's the link to get the same sample of protein ice cream that I ordered.

When you sign up, they'll try to sell you a big container of it for $37, which sounds like a lot, but it's reasonable cuz it's 40 servings, so it works out to less than $1 each. Personally, I don't think you should do it. There's a money back guarantee, but you'd be out the shipping cost. And it's not like you're getting a big deal by purchasing it now. From what I can tell, $37 is the normal price of the product. I think it's better to just wait and see what it really tastes like.

They also claim that you don't have to be worried that they're going to charge you a monthly fee. That's been a big problem lately with these online "free" samples. It seems legitimate, but again, I'll let you know if I notice something screwy with my credit card or anything.
