10 Rules That Every Dieters Should Follow


We are all presented with lots of information about the ways to lose weight. There are various weight loss programs available today. We are all presented with reading materials, videos, and even, audios promising us the fastest and most convenient ways of losing weight. But, don’t you know that there are rules that you need to follow in order to make your desire for weight loss a reality? Yes, that is true! In any diet programs and weight loss advices and tips, there are rules that you should follow and tips that every dieters should know.

Rule # 1 Imagine of yourself as a slender person.

This rule will help you figure out how you would look like when you are thin. This will enhance your determination to succeed in whatever weight loss program you would prefer to enter in the future.

Rule # 2 Plan your meals and snacks.

It is important that know what foods you would like to eat to aid your weight loss and what amount is necessary to achieve your goal. It is best to have a list of the foods that you are planning to eat for the next meal so you won’t be tempted to eat more than what’s needed.

Rule # 3 Avoid restaurants for a week.

It is advisable to keep yourself away from restaurants for the first few days before you start your diet. This is a great way to practice self control, which is one of the most important traits to have when you decide to take any diet programs you want.

Rule # 4 Do not eat while reading or watching TV.
It is not good to eat while watching TV or reading something because you might end up losing control of the amount of foods taken. You should give attention to your food so that you can only take what’s included on your list of meals and snacks you made in rule no. 2.
Rule # 5 Do not eat while you are in a standing position.

Never be satisfied of eating even when you are in a standing position. Usually, people eating while in a standing position will not get full easily. You might end up eating more than what is required. You will just gain more weight when you continue doing this.

Rule # 6 Leave down your dishes after every mouthful.

You should place down your dishes after each mouthful to avoid too much eating. You should know when to stop and when to eat again. This is a way of giving yourself a discipline and preparing yourself for more difficult tasks when you apply for diet programs.

Rule # 7 Chew slowly and taste what you are eating.

Medical experts recommend that when you are eating, you must chew the food slowly and finely. This is helpful to make the digestion processes faster. This rule is also valuable for people with slow rate of metabolism. Of course, you know how metabolism works for weight loss.

Rule #8 Fill the plate with just the right amount of foods you want to eat.

You should make sure to fill your plate with just the right amount of foods that you would to eat. Make sure that these foods are included in your list of the meal plans you made. This would take a lot of discipline to make you succeed with your goal of losing weight.

Rule # 9 Do not get a second serving.

Stop yourself from taking a second serving. I know it would really require too much effort especially for those who are used of eating more than what’s needed by the body. This will not be easy but if you really want to lose weight, you must not violate this rule.

Rule #10 Remember to leave a little food on your plate.

Leaving a little amount of food on your plate is a way of showing how you can control yourself from eating. Although some may not agree with this rule, but, the real essence of this, is to let you discipline yourself that you really need to stop eating no matter how much you crave for it.
