How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy : Weight Loss for New Mothers

When you first found out you were pregnant, your doctor likely told you to start gaining weight.

Gaining weight is something that is just a part of being pregnant. Gaining weight is pretty easy when you are eating for two. But now that your baby is born, you don't want to live with the weight any longer. You want your figure to back to how it was before. Fortunately, we've compiled three ways for any woman to get her figure back after she's had her child. Try any or all of them and you will be bound to get back into your old clothes very quickly!

The Bicycle Ab Excercise :

No, this doesn't involve riding a real bike. This wonderful abdominal exercise works wonders for post-natal women who want to drop their pregnancy weight. Begin with lying down so that your calves are parallel to the floor and your knees are bent. Put your hands behind your head as you take in a deep breath in and out while sucking in your gut. Keep your bum relaxed while, as you extend your right leg, you bring your left knee up to meet your right shoulder.

Your head and shoulders should come off the ground for this movement. Then, after you have gone back to your starting position, do the same thing on the other side. Do three sets of between twelve and twenty reps and you will soon see that your baby weight has faded away. You will shed your baby weight faster if you can maintain this workout for three or more days per week and watching your diet closely. In no time, at all you will see the rewards of your hard work as the weight comes off.

The Super Crunch :

This is an abdominal exercise that should be a part of every post natal exercise routine. In this particular exercise lie down, bend your knees and keep your feet flat on the floor. Put your hands behind your head, breathe in and out and, while holding your abs in, lift your shoulders and head off of the floor. Stay in that position as you lift your knees up to touch your elbows while you also lift your hips up off of the

Pilates :

Pilates probably seems slow but it burns at least two hundred calories per hour.

That's quite a lot of calories with very few stretching movements on your part. You can learn different kinds of moves by watching online videos, DVDs or reading books. Laying on your back with your knees bent is one of the best post natal exercises you can after you give birth if you want to lose weight. Put your hands behind your head and take a breath. Then let your air out while you lift your shoulders and head off the floor (while simultaneously contracting your abs). Then, move your legs into a forty-five degree angle while you extend your arms, keeping your palms down. Pump your arms while inhaling rhythmically for five beats. Then breathe back out for five beats. Doing 100 of these, a day will help you get into shape really fast!

Lunges:

lunges are great calorie burners because they work all of your leg muscles. So not only will lunges help you lose weight quickly, but they will also build the muscles in your legs which means you'll be burning more calories while at rest. A proper lunge involves drawing your abs in while you stand (with your feet hip-width apart and put your hands on your hips). Bring your left foot forward so that your leg is bent at a 90 degree angle. Keep your right leg straight behind you and lower your body until your right knee until it very nearly hits the floor. Slowly raise yourself back up and repeat the action with your left leg. For a proper workout, do this five times with each leg.

Some Styles of Dancing are Great Ways to Lose Weight :

Latin is only an example of one with two effects that can help. Latin dancing not only burns lots of calories as you swing your hips, tap your feet and roll your shoulders, but it can also make you feel sexier when you need it most. You will be able to learn a few Latin moves from online videos or workout DVDs. This can be extremely fun to work out this way and best of all you won't even feel like you are working out at all. You are more likely to keep doing it because it's fun.

Walk n Talk :

Harvard did a study in 2007 that showed just thirty minutes of walking every day can greatly improve a woman's chances of shedding her pregnancy weight. The women who participated in the study lost 11 pounds and most women had lost the weight they wanted to lose by their baby's first birthday. So get outside and breathe in that fresh air! It doesn't matter when you walk, but if you are going to be pushing your baby in a stroller, then make sure you are going when the weather is baby-friendly.

If your weight makes you unhappy after you have your baby, you'll need to do something about that. The good news is that the weight loss methods in this article are easy to do whenever and where ever it is convenient for you. Just make sure that you do proper warm ups and cool downs before and after each exercise routine. There are lots of things you can do to lose weight but these tips are a great starting point.
