Weight Loss Facts

 1. Not eating breakfast makes you fat.
2. Everyone has time to fit in some sort of exercise
3. Buying healthy foods is a lot cheaper than buying new clothes because your old ones are too tight.
4. Cooking at home is way cheaper than stopping for fast food because let’s face it, what overweight person only eats from the dollar menu?
5. Home cooked food tastes so much better than anything from a fast food place.
6. It is possible to lose weight and eat out.
7. It is possible to lose weight and eat dessert.
8. Weight loss is not magic.
9. There is no pill, no drink, no elixir that will help you "burn fat" or lose weight.
10. There is only one way to lose weight – food (energy) in must be less than energy out
11. Muscle does NOT "weigh more than fat". One pound of butter weighs the same as one pound of sugar. I have given this explanation before. Muscle is denser than fat, meaning, tighter. Fat is fluffy. Think about baking for a second. Have you ever had a recipe tell you to "beat butter until fluffy". Ever seen a recipe that does that with a sirloin steak? Better still, put a pound of nails on a scale and a pound of feathers. That is the difference between fat and muscle. As you work out, you build muscle, which can show up on the scale as making you heavier. The more muscle, the heavier you can be, but the leaner your body will look.

13. If you diet heavily and do not exercise, you can actually lose muscle rather than fat
14. It is not necessary to begin an exercise routine that takes four hours a day. You can get all the exercise you need TO START in 30 minutes.

The average glass purchased at McDonald’s is the 32 ounce size, which is four servings. That means the average order of sweet tea at McDonald’s is about 400 calories. Drinking three orders of sweet tea per day will give you 1200 calories per day. Just in tea. That doesn’t count food.
