Quick ways to lose weight in a week
When we are running out of time to look presentable at the upcoming event we seek quick ways to lose weight in a week or two weeks, depending on the time of event. We are generally advised to diet and exercise. To watch our calorie intake and to take up aerobic exercise.
There are a couple of things we must know with regards to aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise include jogging, brisk walking, using treadmills, elliptical machines, stair climbers, etc. The most common advise is to find your target heart rate with one of these exercises and stay with it for about 30 to 40 minutes per day, about 4 to 5 times a week.
According to the latest findings with regards to this mainstream recommendation. 30 to 40 minutes of lower intensity exercise certainly helps in burning calories but, it does not bring about the permanent change of shape that you seek. In fact, it can prove to be counterproductive.
Counterproductive! How?
Well, when you engage in steady paced aerobic exercise for 30 or 40 minutes, you need energy. Therefore, your body calls upon the stored fat in order to convert into energy. As you continue with this routine, your body feels the need to store more fat to be prepared for the next session. Hence, you feel the urge and give into temptations sooner or later and consume more calories to replace the stored fat.
Furthermore, prolonged steady paced aerobics tend to create a threshold for your heart and lungs. In times of extreme stress when the heart and lungs need to go beyond this threshold, they won't be able to. This may lead to disastrous consequences (it is advised that in your aerobic routine, add in a couple of short bursts of increased speed and intensity).
Hence, steady paced, low intensity exercise is not the ideal way if you are looking towards - quick ways to lose weight in a week or quick ways to lose weight in 2 weeks or for that matter even quick ways to lose weight in a month.
Resistance Training: One of the best quick ways to lose weight in a week
There is a much easier way and healthier way of losing weight, and it is Resistance training. With resistance training you are able to rev up your metabolism, and at the same time burn the body fat. Resistance training builds up lean muscle in your body and it is a proven fact that a body with lean muscle is a fat burning machine. You must have come across thin looking people who eat more than you and yet, not put on weight. This is because they have lean muscle maybe due to resistance training or as a result of genetics.
Whatever is your current weight, you always tend to consume calories required to maintain that. When you take up resistance training, some of the calories will go into feeding the lean muscle thereby creating a calorie deficit in the body which results in weight loss. Also, there are some specialized resistance training exercises (which only take about 20 minutes and just 3 times a week) that puts the body in repair and growth mode. This will trigger the body to call upon the stored fat for converting into energy.
The calorie deficit combined with the growth and repair mode of the body turns the body into fat burning furnace through out the day, every day even when you are just sitting doing nothing. Also, the specialized resistance training (recommended here) exercises increases your heart and lung capacity and you are better equipped to manage any kind and any degree of work and stress. This will not only turn your body into fat burning machine but also trains the body to be more resistant to cardiovascular issues that plague most people in these times.
The best thing about this resistance training program is that it takes just about 20 to 30 minutes with only two or three weekly workouts. It takes even lesser at an advanced level.
Because it takes less amount of time and the fact that it is very efficient and easy to follow and be able to see immediate results, you would love to make it a part of your life. This will certainly keep you lean fit and healthy for the rest of your life.
Just to remind you once again about the undeniable fact that it is the lean muscle that turns your body into fat burning machine. And this is your best option in your quest for "quick ways to lose weight in a week".
