Yes, you can eat what you want, all you want and still lose weight!
Always consult your doctor before starting any weight loss program.
In my last weight loss hub it was brought to my attention that some people have a busy schedule and are unable to eat a big lunch. Not to worry! The following diet allows you to eat a large meal, with whatever foods you want, at the end of the day, when you can relax and enjoy every morsel!
1) Once a day, for an hour, eat whatever you want, as much as you want! This is called your reward meal.
2) Try to eat your reward meal about the same time everyday.
3) All other meals and snacks must be no carb or very low carb, meaning there are 0-3 carbohydrates in the foods you are eating. However, you can eat as much of these foods as you want. See list of these foods below.
4) Drink eight 8 oz glasses of water a day.
5) Try to eliminate all soda from your diet, especially diet soda!( This step is optional, but it is a healthy choice you should consider. Especially soda of any kind should not be given to children, but that is another hub which I will be writing in the near future.)
6) No artificial sweeteners except Truvia
7) Eat at least 2 cups of no carb veggies through out the day.
That's all there is to it!
Veggies Permitted- (Choose two cups from below, and eat them raw or cooked.)
Any lettuce, including iceberg, romaine, Bibb, escarole, mache, radicchio, arugula, and endive.
Leafy herbs such as dill, thyme, basil, oregano, and cilantro
Bok choy, chives, cucumber, fennel (anise), parsley, celery, peppers (hot or sweet), radishes, daikon, sprouts, mushrooms, olives.
Asparagus, cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, kale, kohlrabi, tomatoes, onions, summer squashes (yellow, pattypan, and zucchini), okra, turnips, avocado, brussel sprouts, leafy greens broccoli, celeriac, and artichokes.
In fact, just about any vegetable you might wish to eat is permitted, with the exception of corn, potatoes, green (English) peas, and other sweet or starchy vegetables.
Meats and cheeses permitted-eat as many as you like!
You may eat any meat or cheese, sour cream, cream, and eggs. All these foods have zero carbs! For a more complete list, google "no carb, low carb foods".
PLAN your no carb snacks and meals, that is the key to success with this plan. Frankly, if you can't stick to this weight loss plan, there may not be much hope for you! I myself have used this plan when I needed to lose 10 pounds before going to a wedding. I lost 12 pounds! The only drawback with this diet is that you may lose weight too quickly. A weight loss of more than 2 pounds a week may not be healthy for some people. Please talk to your doctor before starting any weight loss program.
Sample menu for a day
Breakfast- 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices bacon, coffee with sugar and Truvia sweetener
Lunch- Grilled chicken breast with a salad made from any combination of the salad greens and veggies above. Top with your own homemade salad dressing! In small bowl combine the following...1/2 cup real mayo, 1T ketchup, 1t grated horseradish, salt and pepper to taste, 1/2 t celery seeds, and 1/2 packet of Truvia sweetener.
Dinner- This is your reward meal, eat whatever you want, as much as you want for an hour! Make sure to get full! Make sure to eat whatever you are hungry for so you don't crave it latter.
Snacks- You may snack on any no carb, low carb veggie of your choice. You may also snack on string cheese.
Other recipes to try...
Mocked Mashed Potatoes- Clean and cup up a head of cauliflower, boil until tender in salted water. Drain water off water. In large bowl combine cauliflower, 3T sour cream, 3T butter, and salt to taste. Mash the same as you would for mashed potatoes, ENJOY! I love this dish, you have to try it!
Beef Roll Ups-6 large leaves of lettuce, 3 slices Embers beef ( bought at the deli), cream cheese, dill pickle spears. Clean lettuce leaves, cut beef slices in half, place 2T cream cheese down the middle of the beef, place the beef slice on the lettuce leaf, place pickle at one end, and roll up the entire thing, starting at the end with the pickle. Now slice the "loaf" into one inch pieces. This makes a great snack and there are 0 carbs in it! I love this recipe!
