Tips on Losing Weight
Losing weight is not that hard to do if you know the formula for weight loss success. Burn more calories than you consume is the short answer.
To permanently lose weight is not impossible; you just have to commit to a plan. Putting together a well thought out plan is the first step to your commitment.
Following are 10 items that you should include into your weight loss plan.
1. Always eat breakfast every day. It is the most important meal of the day. It helps to jump start your metabolism. It should be also the largest meal of the day that you eat.
2. Make sure you have plenty of healthy snacks around. Eat a healthy snack like fresh vegetables in between meals. Get rid of high fat snacks like chips and cookies.
3. Eat plenty of fiber. Good for your digestive system. Eat 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
4. Don't slip up on the weekends. A lot of people do great all week long only to fall off the wagon on the weekend. Don't fall into the habit of rewarding yourself for doing well during the week. You will easily add the weight loss during the week by doing so.
5. Limit portion sizes at meals. This can make a huge difference on your weight loss plan. Eating the healthy snacks in between meals will help to eat smaller portion sizes.
6. Set long term goals. Don't get discouraged by little or no daily progress, focus on the long term.
7. Pack a healthy lunch for work or when you are away from home on the weekends. Stay away from fast food by packing your own healthy lunch. Don't forget the healthy snacks as well.
8. Eat the foods that you like. You do not have to eliminate the foods that you like; you just have to control the amount. Pay attention to the nutritional label and the portion size listed.
9. Increase your physical activity Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. Also choose to use the stairs instead of the elevator. Take a walk after dinner.
10. Keep a weight loss journal. Keep track of your progress. It will keep you on track and motivated when you can look back at your progress over a month or two.
Losing weight is both a result of proper nutrition and physical activity. You must be persistent. You may slip up one day, that’s okay, just make sure you pick up and press on the next day. You can do it, never give up.
