Going through school over weight was not a fun experience for me. I truly tried everything in the book to drop weight so that I could look like the other kids, and not be made fun of. In 9th grade being 250 pounds, and my height only being 5’5, I got picked on a lot. I can remember every time that I would walk into the lunchroom someone would make a rude comment about my weight. Trying to not pay attention to the rude comments only made things much worst.

Needless to say by the time that I was in 10th grade I suffered from low self-esteem. As you can guess I ate more going up to 263. As I continued to try the quick diets, and sign up to the gym, the motivation just was not there to stay on the diets and when I went to the gym it seemed as if I was the only one in the place who had to lose that much weight.

The day that changed my life was also one of the worst days of my life. After making it to homeroom, and getting ready to go to first period class a guy that sits right next to me let out a very nasty , and loud fart, and being embarrass blamed it on me. He also started to crack jokes about my weight, and what I ate last night. The whole room was laughing even the teacher started laughing at me. Only after the teacher saw tears in my eyes did he ask the boy to stop.

At second period class a student that is in my homeroom came up to me and started a conversation, asking how long I have been over weight, and what diets I have tried. I thought that he wanted to poke more fun at me, but he said that he was not there to make fun only to be a friend.

So he started telling me his story. Explaining how he too was once over weight, and how he also went through some of the same things that I have been going through. He started talking about fasting to lose weight, and how it had worked for him. So I asked him don’t you get hungry from not eating?
