Tips To Lose Weight For The Long Term
Obesity is a huge problem in the US and is growing every year. About 2 out of every 3 people in America are considered to be obese or overweight and the scary thing is that this trend continues to rise.
How to Stop Obesity
A good start in stopping this obese growth pattern is to get everyone more conscious of the problem. This pattern is starting earlier and earlier and the child obesity rates are growing. Kids these days are less active than ever and a major contributing factor is all the video games, computers and TV they spend time on.
Approximately 1 in 8 deaths in the US are related to diseases that have to do with obesity such as heart attacks, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure just to name a few.
Weight Loss Is Key to Getting These Diseases Under Control
One strategy of weight loss that has become pretty popular lately is the losing weight fast method. With many of these diets people do lose weight quickly but generally its water weight and this weight comes back just as quick as it leaves you.
The best way to get in shape, get healthy and lose weight is by coming up with and committing to a long term strategy. Its not going to be easy but it will work. Start by setting attainable goals and you will shed the weight.
The Two Key Tips on How To Lose Weight Are:
1. Exercise. This is the first key to sustained weight loss. You have to work out, not just for weight loss but for over all health. If you are just starting out then you should shoot for working out 3-4 times a week at 30 minutes per workout.
When first starting out with losing weight and getting in shape you are going to get really sore from your workouts. And this is ok and you shouldn’t let that affect your future workouts. Getting sore means you are pushing your body to do something new, and you are building muscle. The best way to get rid of belly fat and burn calories is by gaining more muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories you are going to burn. The more calories you burn the more weight you are likely to lose.
Muscle weighs more than fat so as you are working out day to day week to week you may not notice a difference in the scale right away. But you will be losing fat and gaining muscle. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t see changes on the scale right away.
Its important to figure out a workout routine that you can commit to. I would recommend when starting out to do 2 days of cardio workouts and 2 days of weight training and maybe mix in a day of core power yoga or regular yoga as a routine to strengthen and stretch.
For weight training 1 day should be chest and back and the other day should be shoulders and arms (biceps and triceps)
2. Diet. When I say diet I’m not talking about the standard diet where you starve yourself. Im talking about making the right choices when you eat. You want to burn more calories than you consume. So instead of grabbing a bag of chips, grab a handful of cashews or almonds. Instead of having a brownie or bowl of chocolate ice cream grab a handful of chocolate chips. These replacement items will curb your cravings and help limit your calories.
Also instead of eating 3 large meals try eating 5 times a day – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner obviously will be your bigger portion meals but make them smaller then you normally would and eat 200 to 300 calorie snacks in between each meal. This way you wont be starving when you get to Dinner or Lunch and over eat.
You will also want to focus on buying and eating more healthy foods. Chose natural fat burning foods such as citrus, avocado, almonds, eggs. But the key is try to get as much Natural food as you can. The smaller the amount of ingredients in the food item the healthier it will be. The larger the amount of ingredients that you can’t pronounce the worse it will be for you.
Start with this simple exercise and diet plan and you will be well on your way to getting in better and better shape each day. Stick to it and increase your workouts and over time you will look and feel better than you ever have. This method allows you to naturally reduce your chances of high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, lower cholesterol and much more. So don't wait any longer and start getting fit today.
