Important factors to lose weight

You may not realize, but the use of psychology can mean a great success in losing weight successfully. The magazine Psychology Today has explored the subject of weight loss in detail. The article, published in the magazine's website, detailed the experiences of nurse Diane Berry, who has studied how some women who managed to lose over 15 pounds in a short time managed to keep the average weight loss over a period of seven years. All these women had many important things in common.

They all managed to lose weight with the help of "Weight Watchers", or close acquaintances (relatives, personal trainers, nutritionists, and others) which as the name implies, represent a basis of very strong support for loss and weight maintenance. As you can see, the strict control by someone close to encourage self-discipline of the person with respect to weight loss, that is, prevents the person who is in a weight loss program to lose and hard to gain weight back again.

Another unusual feature of this study was that over 90% of people who lose weight in a short time tend to gain weight again in no more than five years. Furthermore, it was found that many of these women suffered from a profound change of mood with respect to weight. Many of these women seemed to be depressed when they felt more content, and any effort in order to lose weight quickly raised the humor of these women.

Important was the fact that they recognize that the fight against the weight would be a constant activity throughout life. They realized that they could not take drugs, compounds and adhering to a program of weight loss and after achieving their goals simply forget everything and go back to old habits and wrong. In some cases, these women compared to control their weight for the fight of an alcoholic. In other words, they recognized the seriousness of the obesity problem and the willpower and dedication that must have to correct this situation.

Many times these women recovered their normal weights, but no longer continue with healthy habits because of it. Similarly, when receded in the program of weight loss, is not intimidated and handle it as merely a challenge to be overcome. In short, these women were able to direct their personalities and their mood changed in a positive way to achieve good results in the long term.

Another interesting aspect of this study showed that women who were losing weight were genuinely happy. This shows the tremendous psychological impact that weight loss causes in a person. A free person of the complex of the extra weight is more confident to face the challenges of everyday life head on. It is very common for family, friends and colleagues praised the people who managed to lose weight, which obviously leaves no one happy and satisfied. Thus, the loss of extra weight can mean a more optimistic perspective.

However, it should be emphasized that the applied psychology in weight loss is a complicated issue and must be crafted carefully. This is because each case is unique because there are several external factors (psychological, family, academics, professionals, among others) that have a negative influence, but the person, recognizing that losing weight is like fighting a fierce battle continued, will mean a change several habits impregnated, and commit to such a battle, it will be better prepared and more chances of success it will have.
