Ahhhhhh in a few weeks time you've got a big event and you want to look your best. Being fat and overweight isn't good enough, the excess fat has to go soon.
You've tried everything, crash diets, exercising, diet pills and even starving yourself, but nothing seems to be working that extra fat just won't go.
Don't panic - losing weight quickly is possible and safe if you know how. It won't be easy but I can be done.

Diet, diet, diet. The key to losing weight quickly is to instantly alter your diet. That means starting from right now, not tomorrow but right now.
Cut out the starchy and sugary carbs completely - that means no bread, potatoes, cereals, rice, pasta, chocolate, biscuits, sweets, cakes etc. None what so ever for the next two weeks.
You're going to replace those carbs with vegetables (no potatoes) and fruits. Roasted and steamed veg can be very tasty if you good it right and it goes very well with a nice piece of meat.
Example vegetables: carrots, parsnips, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, peppers, cabbage, spinach, peas. Any vegetable goes.

For your protein sources you're going to be eating: turkey, skinless chicken, fish, eggs, cottage cheese, beans, pulses and nuts.
Always bake, grill or boil your meat or fish. Avoid frying completely. Season with salt, pepper, herbs and dried spices. Stay away from sweet sauces and fatty sauces.

Cut out all of the soda and fruit juices for the next two weeks.
All you're going to drink is plain water and tea without sugar.

Eat 3 - 5 small meals per day of the foods above.
Some example meals:
A grilled chicken breast with a cup of steamed vegetables.
3 - 4 poached eggs with a salad
A bowl of boiled kidney beans with onion and mushrooms

Stick to meals like that everyday for the next two weeks and you will lose a massive amount of weight.
Remember, the only drinks you can have is water and tea. No snacks and sweet sauces.

Exercising isn't necessary for rapid weight loss but it can help speed up results. The only down side to exercising is that you may end up eating more.
If you want to lose 20lbs in two weeks then you have to turn you body into a calorie burning machine. The way to do that is to increae your lean muscle tissue. When you increase your muscle tissue you will burn more calories even when you're sitting down. It's a bit like buying a car with a bigger engine - you're still traveling the same distance and you're still going the same speed but you're using more fuel.
To increase your lean muscle tissue you're going to be performing weight lifting exercises that work the big muscle groups.
Squats, chest press, pull downs, shoulder press and lunges. Do 3 - 4 sets of each exercise for 8 - 12 reps, go heavy and go to near failure.
Do a weight lifting session 3 - 4 times a week. If you're not comfortable using free weights, use the machines in the gym.
