Simple and Quick Weight Loss Diet with Daily News Updates: Diets in the News!

Here was the question...

I asked myself how could Iose the extra ten pounds I had gained?  I saw this as the beginning of a cycle of weight gain that I wanted to nip in the bud- to stop it before it got out of control. I discovered that the worst places for a dieter were supermarkets and fast food restaurants. I also discovered with some research that each person has a learned or hereditary set point involving food intake as well as visual, emotional, and olfactory as well as physiological triggers that can defeat the best intentions of a dieter: For example...
the smell of fatty foods cooking
the memory of the taste of an unhealthy food
the family kitchen!


Those are just a few examples.

To start a new diet I suggest locking the food cabinets in the kitchen. Clean out the freezer and the refrigerator (empty it of all food), disconnect the electric power, put police warning tape over the door "No Entry" in addition to an unhappy smiley face sticker on the freezer door.

What's in your kitchen?

Some of the worst culprits to any weight loss diet program can be found in your own kitchen. All the bad habits are right there. Examples are:
the REFRIGERATOR! It could be your refrigerator, your daughter in law's refrigerator, your neighbor friend's refrigerator or the deli section of the corner store. Avoid them.
the food cabinets and the cookie jar in your kitchen. They are possibly full of the bad habit foods that led to the weight gain.
fast food restaurants and highway billboards featuring junk food and beverage ads.
SUPERMARKETS! especially those which give away free food and drink samples. (Have a friend do your shopping while you are on the diet mentioned below.)
television advertising featuring juicy hamburgers, deep fat fried French fries and milkshakes- chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or otherwise.
your own bodies natural or hereditary set point habits that your physiological and psychological body has which trigger unhealthy eating behaviors such as food binges.
emotions or physiological changes that trigger unhealthy eating habits and food consumption.
catchy and seductive newspaper or magazine advertising featuring unhealthy foods and beverages.


If it helps, changing unhealthy eating habits can be like trying to stop the use of tobacco.

What's in that delicious smell?

Also, if it helps, remember that the delicious smells of chicken and hamburgers coming from that fast food restaurant, or steak from the local steak house are this: those odors are the last of the animal's body gasses being cooked off and entering the atmosphere- all in protest of their untimely deaths while at the peak of their health and maturity.  That idea alone helped me to avoid the temptation of walking into a fast food restaurant which could have been a contributing factor to the failure of staying on my diet.

The Diet

Now for the diet I found so successful that helped me lose those ten pounds.

Breakfast:
3/4 cup of oatmeal cooked
mix in one sliced banana
1 glass of non-sugar containing fruit juice as a beverage
a good quality vitamin


Lunch:
3/4 cup of boiled rice with steamed vegetables
a portion of fruit of your choice
a cup of green tea


Dinner:
Your choice of dehydrated soups such as those offered by Knorr
vegeburger
fruit salad
a small portion of steamed rice with vegetables
a small portion of canned sardines or tuna
a can of "Insure" dietary vitamin health drink available in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavors


Exercise: If at all possible, each meal can be followed by a ten or fifteen minute casual and leisurely walk.

It is always wise to check with a doctor regarding any diet or exercise problem. Sometimes excessive weight gain can be caused by the onset of severe and chronic disease.

Here is encouragement.

When we are young the problem of excessive weight gain is not always an issue. One reason for this is because the body's metabolism is high and burning off the calories. As we get older, we sometimes slow down and weight gain can become an increasing or persistent problem.

As in any other habit, it may take two or three attempts to break it. Remember that every attempt brings you closer to success!

Track your daily successes by using a journal to record weight loss and any other pertinent information about your efforts.

After Success!

After the desired weight loss has been achieved be on guard for the triggers that can result in a return to the cycle of unhealthy eating and weight gain.
