How to Lose a Pound a Week

How to Lose a Pound a Week

Several months ago, you made a commitment to yourself (and maybe to others) to lose some unwanted weight. Maybe it was a New Year’s resolution or maybe it was just a promise to yourself or to a loved one; yet, here you are (months later) still trying to figure out how to lose a pound a week. Well, hopefully this article will provide you with some actionable tips to help you reach your goal. If you follow what I have written below, you will learn how to lose a pound a week. Read on for some very valuable and tangible tips for losing weight quickly.

There are two things you must do if you want to figure out how to lose a pound a week. You must, at a minimum, change your diet up somewhat to include certain foods that help you lose weight while removing some foods that make you gain weight. Companies like Jenny Craig and Jillian Michaels come to mind as good resources.  The second piece of the puzzle that you need if you want to lose a pound a week is exercise. Yes, I know you cringe at the thought of exercise but you came here to learn how to lose a pound a week so I have to, unfortunately, remind you that exercise is part of the equation.

Losing a pound a week becomes requires you to reduce your daily caloric intake by 500 calories. Doing this is easier if you split the task between reducing food calories by 250 and then burning the other 250 via exercise.

Diet

Changing up your diet is an effective way to reduce caloric intake and is one of the best ways I know how to lose a pound a week. Programs like the SpecialK Challenge, Jenny Craig, and Weight Watchers work because they effectively replace poor food choices with proper ones. These programs are advertised all over the Internet so finding information about them should not be difficult. My suggestion for losing a pound a week is to get involved with one of them or even do your own thing by replacing that large bakery muffin you eat every morning with a slice of whole wheat toast topped with peanut butter or skipping the ice cream or replacing it with frozen yogurt.

Exercise

If you are looking for an answer to how to lose a pound a week, exercise is part of it. That being said, losing a pound a week requires no more than a brisk 30 minute walk per day. If walking isn’t your thing, try doing that always-needed housework in your home for an hour. If you really want to know how to lose a pound a week, the answer is easy. Change just one or two things in your diet and perform just a small amount of exercise per day and you will have your answer.
