Eat Healthy without Starving
First and foremost health eating is not about starving yourself to get the super model thin look or even looking "skinny". It’s about eating the right foods to help you maintain a good figure and a healthy, energetic lifestyle.
Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables are going to promote energy throughout your body and assist in any weight loss goals you may have. Fruits and vegetables will make you feel full without feeling over-tired unlike many foods that contain a high amount of carbohydrates and sugars. They also contain vitamins and nutrients which are essential to keeping your body hydrated.
The simplest way to start eating for your health is to change your type of snacking. For instance if you eat chips or candy for a mid-day snack, try an apple or a pear instead. You will be shocked at the difference after a few short days of doing this. The fruit will help replenish the hydration you’ve already lost during the day. Try to stay away from canned fruits and vegetables as these contain preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. The best option is to go to your local farmers market to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables as these usually have not undergone the pesticide sprays that store bought fruits and vegetables have.
Another way to stay on track with the health eating is to prepare meals in advance, so you aren’t tempted to pull into a drive-through fast food restaurant. The amount of calories and oils that are in those foods are a cholesterol and obesity nightmare. Not to mention the cost of fast food compared to home cooked meals. An average meal at a fast food restaurant costs between $5 and $8 per person per meal, where a home cooked meal costs $2 to $2.50 per person per meal.
After you’ve tried to eat healthy for a few weeks you will notice many differences in your energy level and very likely your weight. This will give you the will power and courage to continue eating for your health. Don’t forget to celebrate your healthful eating milestones
