How To Lose Weight - THE TRUTH!
If your like me, then you must be exhausted! Looking around for the best ways, the quickest ways, the easiest ways to lose weight or burn fat - it's a nightmare! I mean am not trying to look like a crazy body-builder with arms the size of cannonballs! All i want is to be slim, have a flat tummy - without the flab roles! And it would be nice if my entire body had a nice ripped look - not like a magazine cover model... but good enough to turn a few heads. I've been trying for the past few years to find something that will help me get the results I want, and guess what? I finally found it. Read on...
Real Apples? What's That?!
Now at this point I can't stress enough how important it is that we don't look at diet pills or supplements as the only answer to our problem - because it isn't! The solution consists of eating a balanced diet and having a basic workout regime. Now don't turn away like it's impossible to do, I've been trying to find a solution that doesn't involve eating healthy and having regular exercise - but it doesn't exist! Truth is you have to have some healthy foods and have a little exercise. Not saying your going to have to eat nothing but spinach like Popeye and lift buildings like Superman - but a little fruit and vegetable, and an occasional jog/run is more than sufficient. Doesn't seem like a lot - but when was the last time you went for a jog? Or the last time you had some real fruit? Not sweets or desserts that taste like an apple - I mean a real apple! They do exist!
What You Need To Do
You have to make a few tweaks in your diet and add some form of exercise. We've all heard the phrase: you are what you eat - so why does it surprise us? If all we eat is food that has high saturated fat - then were going to look like high saturated fat! And trust me if you think a little jogging is going to kill you - you might want to reconsider! There's more chance that jogging a little will help you live longer! So to help you get started I've compiled an easy and straight-forward list of what you need to do achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Don't skip breakfast: It is vital that we don't miss breakfast, our bodies are empty in the morning and require fuel to function properly. Missing breakfast can disrupt the mind and body's performance during the day. *It's also a factor for why people tend to gain extra weight!
Eat fruit & veg on a daily basis: We all know it's important - it provides really helpful vitamins and minerals that ensures are insides are working efficiently. Doc says at least aim for 5 portions a day for best results.
Drink plenty water: you should aim to drink about 3-5 pints (approx 2 litres) a day. Very important as it flushes out toxins - these little buggers cause dehydration, aches, pains and tension! Also drinking water ensures your skin is hydrated, so helps reduce disorders such as dry skin, eczema, wrinkles and spots. Also keeps the gut working efficiently, keeps your joints well oiled... the benefits are endless.
Eat starchy foods: this we know people - cereal, bread, pasta, rice and potatoes! These are important sources of energy so shouldn't be excluded from your diet. However it is advisable to not have too many portions as this will create too much energy - which is unnecessary unless your an athlete. If energy isn't used - it turns into fat because it isn't going anywhere. Another great tip is to try having anything that starts with the word whole - wholemeal, wholegrain, wholewheat. That's because they digest slower which means you tend to eat less - naturally!
Try to eat fish at least once a week: fish are very high in protein and other important vitamins. Mainly something called omega 3 - sounds like a transformer i know but it actually keeps your heart healthy. So definitely worth having at least once a week. Aim for oily fish as these have the best from of omega 3, e.g. salmon, mackerel, fresh tuna, sardines, trout, herring, eel (there the one's I know).
Cut down on saturated fat & sugar: it's important to include fat in your diet but you should avoid saturated fat as this causes high colestrol which can develop heart desease. So try to cut down on pastry, cakes, meat pies, butter and cream. A good tip also when frying try using vegetable oil such as sunflower or olive - these little changes will make a great improvement to your diet.
Cut down on salt: eating too much salt isn't good as it raises blood pressure - what does that mean to you? It means your more likely to to develop heart desease or have a stroke! As a measurement you should aim to have no more than 6g of salt a day. To find out how much salt is in your food you will need to read labels or get info, anything that consists of more than 1.5g salt per 100g is too high. So try and ensure its below this limit.
Get active: As i said before a healthy diet and exercise will help you a lot. Its important that we keep are insides looking good - not just our outsides. Try finding an exercise that your comfortable with as we all have different preferences, some prefer walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or gym. All are beneficial so don't worry if you can't do a specific exercise as there's bound to be something thats perfect for you.
