Food tricks!

Food tricks!

I really do not believe in diets. Lately I've been thinking the only way to lose weight is to trick my body. By that, I mean trick my taste buds and stomach into believing they are satisfied by low fat and low carb foods. For example, I have a stash of naked almonds in my bag at all times for bouts of hunger and I have tried to keep apples and other various low sugar foods around for snacking. That low glycemic diet is a good guideline for us apple shaped people. As I have known since I was 12 that women should eat 2 fruits a day and should be eating way more veggies than we do. Of course, all these good intentions back fire on occasion, just the other day I made a cup of tasty English Breakfast tea and wham I found myself unable to control myself. All of a sudden I was eating not 1 but 2 oreo vanilla cookies which had been hanging around because it turns out the kids don't like them and I felt guilty throwing perfectly good cookies away. (They were a buy one get one bogo deal that was a bust!) Anyhow, my point is that with a little creativity you can trick your mind (usually). Damn those cookies! A friend of mine recently just told me about these little frozen Sara Lee cheese cakes that are supposedly 15 calories and sound delish!! I have to try those! Also about control, I know ladies sometimes it seems impossible! The other secret of success I have to share is conscious eating which we are all GUILTY of! Most of the time I find myself eating and walking around or in the car etc....This is terrible! I am trying to force myself to sit and eat and think about what I am eating. Sounds easy but this is much harder than it sounds. With the demands of children, I have 3 and a husband that is like 10 children and work it is really really difficult! I hope this helps someone. Trick or treat friends!
