Everyday Health Tips – Eat Fresh Foods
Sensible eating habits are the only way to lose weight permanently. Avoid high fat foods and keep away from high sugar drinks such as sodas. You can probably think of sodas as liquid candy; they are full of sugar and consuming them daily can have disastrous affects on your body and health. Any food that contains a lot of sugar means a lot of calories, empty calories that you don’t need. If you must drink soda, choose diet sodas.
A great tip to keep the calories in check and also feel full is to eat foods such as tomatoes and watermelons as they contain high levels of water. These types of foods can contain between 90% and 95 % of water so don’t feel guilty if you eat them until you feel like bursting. These foods can make you feel full without adding to the pounds.
Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Fruit juice is usually sweetened whilst fresh fruits contain only natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are contributing to your daily fiber intake that the body needs to function efficiently. Fresh fruits are also the perfect source of vitamins, so eat as much fresh fruit as you can.
If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of juices that contain artificial flavors and colors. The best way to have fruit juice is to make it yourself. When you juice your own fruit juice you know exactly what goes into it and it is possible to sweeten it without too many calories.
Choose fresh fruit rather than processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened. A basic health tip that when you include as much fresh food in your diet as possible, it can make a huge difference to how you feel both inside and out. If you are giving your body the vitamins it needs, it shows on the outside in your skin, nails and hair and on the inside by feeling much lighter and healthier.
