Eating Weight Loss Plan and your attitude
There is no easy way to lose weight, no matter what anyone tells you. The internet is constantly advertising weight loss products which may be great, but it is no good buying something with the mentality that the product is going to do it for you. People are giving you fantastic weight loss diet tips, which might sound great in theory, but a lot more difficult in practice. A lot of people think that if they spend excessive amounts of money on the latest products they will have lost pounds within no time at all.
Diet Commitment, Motivation and Discipline
There are a few things to ask yourself before climbing into any weight loss program. First of all how committed are you really. Often we have so much drive for the first few weeks, but after we find we are not doing too well then hit a point where we lose interest in the program.
I don’t like to refer to weight loss as a diet, but more as an eating plan. This should be a whole new lifestyle and a diet is a short-term process. It’s never easy to do something on your own. Support of your family and even a mentor that you might see once a week is very useful.This will drive your motivation further, especially when people start saying how good you are looking lately.
Sometimes you might feel like a pizza or a second helping of potatoes. But sometimes you might not feel like going to college or taking the rubbish out. This is when discipline comes into play.
Change your lifestyle, eating healthier
The emotional powers of food can be incredibly strong. How many people resort to a tub of ice-cream when the going gets tough or levels of stress rise uncontrollably. Now you have to ask yourself how ice-cream is going to eradicate your stress levels.
The lifestyle issue has been mentioned before. This does not mean it’s a prison sentence and that you can’t ever have a good time. If you have been invited to a barbeque would you turn down the invitation because you are trying to lose calories?
Would you say no more restaurants because the food is not on your eating plan. Eventually you will be feeling very sorry for yourself.
Go to the barbeque and have some meat, just leave off any bulky potatoes in the beginning of your program. Not all restaurants serve French style food with butter and cream. Healthy style restaurants are getting more popular these days.
Enjoyment and Satisfaction
Being sensible with food is another major part that plays on your mind. Learn to enjoy your food. As you eat, savour every bite and taste the different flavours on your plate.
This way you will learn to appreciate food more and not just eat because it’s there or snack on the leftovers from your kids lunchboxes.When we develop new eating habits they will last a life time as long as we stick to them. Not only is this good for you but it is also beneficial to the rest of your family.
Sometimes we eat for the sake of eating. This could be in front of the television or quickly before going out somewhere which doesn’t do anything for your metabolism either.
Eating and enjoying great company or culture brings positive associations with food in your lifestyle. By slowing down the eating process you will know when you are full and satisfied. Ask yourself how satisfied am I?
Lastly in addition to a new lifestyle you will have to apply new values to live by. Once you have lost weight so often going back to old ways only puts on the weight again.
