Whats The Quickest Way To Lose Weight?


Before I get into this I have to say that if you want to find the real quickest way to lose weight than this is it.  Its not a fad and you wont lose 10 pounds in 10 days but over 60 days which I consider a short time frame.  This is a real program with healthy ways to lose weight and when you are done you will be amazed at the results.  So now to story.

The INSANITY!

Its 60 days later and I have completed the Shaun T’s Insanity program.  After day one I thought there was no way I would get through it.  I was brutal.  But I did it!  Every day was a challenge and each work out seemed to be a little more difficult then the one before it.  You get completly exhausted and you know you are burning so many calories.  Now that its over I can say honeslty that i have never been in better shape than I am now. 

To give you some background on my.. Im in my late 30's and have always been athletic, but had lately been puting on some weight (what can I say, I love to eat).  Then in the middle of June 2010 I ran into my friend who I knew was in the middle of P90X and I started talking to him about it to get more details.  He gave me all the details and I told him there is no way I am going to work out 6 days a week for 60 mins each workout. Then I got to thinking and decided I would give it a try and just go for as long as I could or wanted to.  But then once I got started it was a different story.  It was tough, but 30 mins in I made the decision to keep on going.  And from then on I just kept going and going until I was done 90 days later.

After that I talked to my friend again and found that he was doing a new beachbody workout program and it was Shaun T's Insanity.  So I knew that I had to try that next.  It was nothing like I expected.  I figured hey I just finished P90X Im in great shape this will be a piece a cake.  Boy was I wrong.

The Program

Month 1

In the first month you work out 6 days a week for about 40 minutes each day. All the DVD’s start with a warm up that to most people would be considered a serious workout. After the warm-up you do some stretching to get your body ready for the real workout. After that the work out begins. Each work out you go at high intensity for about 3 or so minutes then you get a 30 or so second break followed by another 3 minutes of high intensity training. Then you get a cool down / stretching period.

After the first month you get a recovery week where you do the same routine 6 days in a row. In my opinion this is the one draw back of this program. 6 days in a row gets old pretty quickly. But anyway after that week you pick it up a notch.

Month 2

Now that you have month 1 or the first 30 days behind you its time to pick up the insanity. Month 2 consists of most of the same thing except that each work out lasts just about an hour long. So if you can imagine how exhausted you were in the first month you now get to do the routines for that much longer. But the good thing is by this time you are already in such great shape you will be able to get through it.

Along with the insanity workouts the you get a nutrition plan to follow. This nutrition plan consists of eating 5 meals a day. Your 3 main meals plus snacks in between. With these snacks you never get over hungry like you would if you didn’t have them. It keeps your metabolism going through out the day plus the meals include natural fat burning foods. And besides that with all the calories you are burning in your workouts you need these snacks.

The workouts combined with the nutrition plan in my opinion is the best way to get in shape. Not only is it the best way to lose weight it’s a very healthy way to lose weight since you do it over time and, unlike the super fast weight loss gimmicks this weight will stay off for the long term.
