The Best Way To Lose Weight-Stop Struggling With Quick Fix Diets

My Tips To Losing Weight

While there are many programs and diet plans out there you need to find something that works for you and something you can stick with. Fasting shouldn't be considered because you are depriving your body of the nutrition that it need. Also you shouldn't consider something that is not good for you. Here are some tips that have helped me lose weight and maintain it over the years.

First off find somebody who has a desire to lose weight and partner up with them. Having support is key when you are embarking on a lifestyle change. If possible convince your spouse or someone in your house that they should try to get healthy together.

Then set goals. Write them down and write down why it is you want to accomplish them. Make them realistic. Don't set an unrealistic goal and then quit after a week if you don't reach them. Slow and steady is the way to go. Make it a long term process. This is very important. If you try to lose too much weight too fast chances are you will gain it all back.

Give up sodas and fast food. Sodas are nothing but sugar and empty calories. This was probably the hardest thing for me to do. If you are a big soda drinker and you're finding it difficult to quit then start slow. Try to only have one soda a day and drink water the rest of the day. Slowly you will be able to quit completely. Giving up fast food is going to take some planning on your part. You are going to need to shop and plan your meals. Believe me once you get into a routine you will feel better and even save money.

Clear out all the junk food in your house. If it's in the house chances are you will eat it. Write a list of the food you need when you go shopping so you already know. Also don't go to the store hungry. We all know that when we go to the store hungry we end up with a bunch of junk food.

Plan a time everyday that you will exercise. Try to get a partner and commit to doing it together. Don't just tell yourself that it will happen. Make it happen. There will be days that you will feel tired and won't feel like exercising but you're going to need to just get out there and do it. Once you get started with any execise routine you will feel better and be glad you did it.

Drink a glass of water before and during your meals. This really helps to create that full feeling, and it's good to be hydrated.

Eat a healthy breakfast. Eat most of your calories early in the day. It has been shown that people who skip breakfast feel hungrier later in the day and tend to eat more.

Eat smaller portions. You can eat more frequently if you eat smaller portions and this way you won't get hungry and over eat. If you wait until you're starving to eat then chances are you are going to eat way more than what you should.

Start paying attention to everything you eat. Start reading all labels. I know this will be difficult at first but the reality is if you don't know what you are putting into your body how can you control your weight and health. Pay attention to calories and sugars. At first it will surprise you how many foods that you think are good for you really aren't. Look at serving size too. You might buy a drink tha says 80 calories and 14 grams of sugar but that is just per serving and there are 4 servings per bottle. So after you drink the whole thing you have consume you have consumed 14 teaspoons of sugar and 320 calories. Yikes!

The bottom line to weight loss is calories in vs. calories burned. You need to burn more calories then you consume. Sounds easy enough. Right? You just need to find something that will work for you.
