Drink water
Drinking water is great for weight loss because water flushes out toxins and keeps your body running smoothly.
Sleep
To fight fat properly you need your sleep. Not getting enough sleep will cause your cortisol levels to rise which will in turn cause you to retain and gain fat much easier.
Eat fewer calories
This is a no brainer. Eating fewer calories than your body needs to maintain its current body weight will force your body to lose weight.
Spread meals out over the day
Since you can only digest and use up so many calories at any given time why would you eat more calories at one sitting than your body needs to function?
Cut out junk food
This is another no brainer. You are what you eat. Eat junk feel and look like junk.
Sure you can get away with it for years but as you get older and the metabolism slows down than all of a sudden BAM! You are sporting a nice big belly or big old butt or maybe both.
Exercise
Exercise is the best way to burn extra calories. No matter what type of exercise you chose to do it will be worthwhile. Any extra work your body does burns extra calories.
I prefer muscle toning because your body will keep burning calories hours after you workout as it works on repairing and toning your muscle where straight cardio mostly burns calories during your work out and the calorie burning drops off drastically shortly after.
Don’t eat after 8p.m.
This is a tough one for most people. Especially for people that sit around at night watching TV. It becomes a habit that you might not even notice is happening.
You are watching TV and even if you are not hungry you have the urge to snack on something. You don’t have to quit cold turkey but you should wean yourself off of late night snacking over a few weeks.
It will make a huge difference with your weight loss goals. Anything eaten later at night will most likely be directly converted to fat.
Visualize
Visualization is important. If you don’t know how you want to look or what size you want to be then how can you make plans to get there? Imagine yourself slimmer and trimmer.
Imagine your body toned and firm. Imagine wearing smaller sized clothes that are not tight on you. Visualization works. Do it.
Set goals
This works hand in hand with visualizing. After you are done visualizing make sure to set your goals and even better write them down or keep track of them on your computer.
While you will have an end goal in mind set short term goals that will help you get to your end goal. You will find it easier if you proceed like this.
Quit drinking alcohol and smoking
I surely hope I don’t really have to be telling you this but just in case there is someone out there that hasn’t heard.
Alcohol bad, smoking bad. Alcohol is extra empty calories and usually leads to non healthy foods like wings n things.
Wings are tasty but they are not going to help you lose any weight. Smoking is of course bad for your lungs and suppresses your appetite possibly causing you to not eat when you should.
It also gets in the way of any workout program if you can’t breathe very well.
