Spring into Weight Loss
While today marks the first official day of spring, for many, it’s a reminder that summer (and swimsuit season) is just around the corner. With about two months to go until you’ve got to bare it all, now is the time to spring into your weight loss plan.
The following are 5 easy to follow tips that will have you slim, trim, and looking good just in time for the anticipated summer season.
Snack healthily, and cut out the junk. Increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables everyday is not only great for your body, but it will reduce hunger and decrease the amount of sugary junk food you eat. After you go to the grocery store and stock up on delicious fruits and veggies, divide them into baggies that you can stash in the fridge and grab when you’re in a hurry.
Eat smaller portions. Weight loss comes as a result of expending more calories than you consume, so cutting back on your daily caloric intake is a sure fire way to shed those extra pounds. While your body may think that you’re still hungry towards the beginning of your portion control efforts, it will adjust after only a few days.
Exercise. While this may be the last thing you want to hear, exercising is a crucial aspect for building muscle, toning up, and losing weight. Exercise, in combination with eating healthy, will always – fail not – bring weight loss. Don’t have the umph to get up and go, try an energy supplement to get your blood pumping.
Drink extra water. More than half of Americans aren’t drinking the daily recommended amount of water. Drinking water is great for your skin, helps flush out toxins, increases energy, and even keeps you fuller longer.
Get enough sleep. Not only will getting enough sleep give you more energy throughout the day, but medical evidence suggests that how much you sleep and quite possibility the quality of your sleep may silently orchestrate a symphony of hormonal activity tied to your appetite.
