Health Tips 2009
You want to do everything differently in 2009. You want to change your life style, you want to spend more time with your family, lose weight, exercise more, save money, find the love of your life (if you haven't been successful yet), redecorate your apartment, find a better job (or let us say, keep your job, considering these hard economic times) and so on.But whether or not you are going to keep up with these resolutions, you should consider what's most important for 2009, namely, staying healthy. You will not be able to keep up with any of your New Year's resolutions if you are in a bad health condition.So here are some valuable health tips featured in Glamour Magazine February 2009:Eat less salt:Did you know that half of women over 45 have high blood pressure, and that a lot of that is due to sodium? So even if you consider yourself healthy, try to eat food that contains less salt in order to avoid heart diseases in the future. Try to avoid eating fast food because it contains too much sodium.
Rid your bedroom of anything distractive:A good night's sleep helps you stay focused the next day as it gives you energy to accomplish your every day tasks, so it is very important that you sleep well during the night. Unfortunately, many people cannot sleep well at night due to a lot of reasons. Maybe you weren't aware of it, but there may be things in your bedroom that keep you from having a good night's sleep as they distract you. For example, if you leave your TV or radio on, or even the reading light, your sleep cycle will be disrupted.Also set your alarm for the time you really have to get up. If your alarm clock rings every five minutes, your sleep cycle will also be interrupted and you will feel tired the whole day.
Check your skin once a month:It is really important to check your skin once in a while so you can recognize any changes and go to the doctor as soon as possible in case you notice something out of the ordinary. "Look for any striking, dark or changing spots or moles" while you put on your moisturizer or get out of the shower.
