Excercise Not Always Best To Lost Weight Fast
Everyone is looking for weight loss help these days. Obesity is running rampant throughout American culture and some of us are just getting tired of being fat. So we try out all kinds of tricks and fads to try to drop the pounds away. We try out weight loss programs we see on tv, spending hundreds of dollars because a celebrity told us it works. We try out all kinds of garbage things we find on the internet even though if you think about it most of them don't even make sense. Some people though, recognize that the only way to truly lose weight and keep it off is diet and exercise. So lets talk about some of the best exercise to lose weight fast.
The first exercise you can try is cardiovascular. Cardio provides lots of weight loss help. For starters it gets your heart rate up which makes you burn fat more efficiently. Seecond, it burns calories which is the key to losing weight: burning more calories than you take in (more about that later). There are lots of types of cardio exercises. You can run or walk. Running is good because it burns calories and it is free. If you are not in good enough shape to run then you can start by walking to get yourself to a point that you body can handle running. If you want to pay for a gym membership you can use a treadmill to run/walk. This has the advantage that most gyms now install televisions on their treadmills so you can watch tv while you exercise (instead of sitting on your butt). You can also do the elliptical machine which is supposed to be low impact (but it still hurts my knees, maybe I am just too tall). The next cardio option is the bike. For this you can either invest in a bike and ride on the road or offroad if you are so inclined. Or you can go to the gym and ride one of their bikes. My gym does not have many bikes so your mileage may vary.
Another type of exercise is weight lifting or resistance exercises. This way is my favorite because you can see immediate results in terms of muscle gain though not so much in weight loss since muscle weighs more than fat. However, the weight loss help offered by weight training is that building lean muscle mass will improve you metabolism which will make you burn calories faster. In the short term it of course burns a good number of calories. There are a lot of differnet aspects of weight training to consider. First, do you want to work with free weights of machines? Free weights give you a lot of cred as a weight lifter but they do come with a steep learning curve. Machines are easier on beginners and I confess I mostly use machines. The next thing to do is to pick how to structure your workout. I prefer to do a full body workout three days a week, tuesdays, thursday, and saturday. Monday is a terrible time to go to the gym because it is full of people working off the excess weekend calories from eating out and boozing it up. Fridays are a great time to workout because nobody but the hardcore of gym rats go.
Your best bet for weight loss help is to combine diet and exercise. There is an old saying among weight lifters: great abs are made in the kitchen. Recent evidence suggests that exercise is not even that helpful for weight loss. This may or may not be true. It is good for a lot of other things to make yourself healthy though so don't think you can get out of it. I think exercise is a tool for weight loss. You burn calories which contributes to your total calorie deficit for the day and the week. There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. Create a 3500 calorie deficit per week and you lost a pound a week. Increase the deficit to lost weight faster. That is the best tip I have for you to lose weight fast.
