In a Week Lose Weight
It is possible to lose weight in one week. Quick weight loss programs, extreme diets, and crash diets can make this happen. They are useful and effective, especially for people who want to lose weight fast because they wish to look thinner and fitter for a coming special occasion, such as a wedding, reunion, pictorial or maybe a vacation at the beach.
A popular method to lose weight in one week is the liquid diet. This extreme diet entails that the person should forego all solid food. Instead, they drink shakes, nonfat milk, clear soups and such other healthy beverages. There are many variations to the liquid diet, including the lemonade diet, the grapefruit diet, and the Hollywood diet. As their names suggest, the lemonade and grapefruit diets require that the person rely mainly on the fruit juice specified for sustenance for a whole week. Vitamin and herbal supplements may be taken during the period to prevent nutrient deficiency. The Hollywood diet, on the other hand, requires that one drinks just juices, but for a shorter duration of usually two to three days. People on this diet typically lose up to ten pounds within those few days.
Another popular diet to lose the most weight fast is the cabbage soup diet. It also can help a person shed up to ten pounds. He should only eat a particular recipe of cabbage soup, as well as certain fruits and vegetables. On certain days, he can also add rice, beef or milk to the diet. The diet program specifies which days of the week these additional food items are allowed. On any day, the person can eat as much cabbage soup as he wants.
These crash diets are usually effective for short-term weight loss, but they do have disadvantages. One of their most glaring shortcomings is that the weight lost can be regained soon after the diet is discontinued. Another is that the food is monotonous and bland-tasting. The person can quite literally become sick of eating cabbage soup or drinking lemonade again and again, but he must stick with it to achieve his weight loss targets. He also must endure some side effects such as light-headedness, nausea, headaches, lethargy and weakness.
Doctors in general caution against crash diets to lose weight in one week. These diets carry health risks, including the side effects mentioned. The lethargy and weakness experienced is likely to keep a person from performing the things he does every day, such as his work and activities at home well. There too is the risk of losing muscle mass, and of impairing heart or liver function, especially if diet pills are taken to supplement the quick weight loss program.
These diets are not the safest way to lose weight fast, but they do work, so long as the person exercises self-control and discipline.
