Urgent Weight Loss

Who doesn’t want to lose weight fast? We all want to see results quickly. If you doubt it, look at the many ads on TV on in the magazines. Weight loss is a booming industry and there is no shortage of people out there to help you lose it quickly – if not the fat, then your wallet for sure.

But despite all the claims out there, we still want to see fast results. We get discouraged easily when the days go by and the weight sticks around. But let us be honest, fast weight loss is not healthy. The suggested medical weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. This gives the body time to adjust and to prevent deficiencies that could have long tern effects. Healthy should be the chosen path, but short term quick weight loss can be a mental boost to anyone.

So, we want to be healthy yet we want results. Maybe we just want the jumpstart or an urgent weight loss that is just a few pounds to fit into that dress he just loves. There are a few things that you can do for short-term urgent weight loss. Just keep in mind that none of these are good for long-term effects and can cause medical problems. Most are gimmicks. Most are dangerous. But the only one I know of that has proven itself time and again without much health risk and is designed for the short-term urgent loss is The Cabbage Soup Diet.

The Cabbage Soup Diet

This one has been around for years and everyone I know that uses it sees immediate results. It is designed to be for only seven days which is good for those looking for quick and simple. You can have as much water and soup during the day that you want. In fact, the more the better according to the plan. But don’t get discouraged. You can eat other foods but only on the days designated and the foods listed.

Day 1 – Eat soup, all the fruit you want (except bananas), drink water, and unsweetened tea, cranberry juice, or black coffee.

Day 2 – Today you can have no fruit, but all the leafy vegetables are yours. Try to avoid the beans and corns. Eat plenty of soup and drink plenty of water.

Day 3 – Now the first two days come together. Eat plenty of soup, fruits (no bananas still), vegetables (no potatoes), and drink lots of water.

Day 4 – It never fails. Only when you are told that you cannot have something do you really crave it. So to prevent the unavoidable binge, day 4 allows you to eat up to eight bananas, lots of soup, lots of water, and as much skim milk as you like.

Day 5 – You can now have up to 20 ounces of beef, chicken, or fish on this day as well as up to six tomatoes. Drink plenty of water and eat your soup.

Day 6 – Eat meat and veggies today in addition to your soup. Just avoid any potatoes.

Day 7 – Unlimited vegetables, brown rice, and unsweetened fruit juices today. Eat the soup and drink your water.

You should see significant weight loss during this week. Many people use this as a quick loss for just a few pounds, a jumpstart on a long diet road, and even add it periodically into their diet to give them a mental boost when they get discouraged. If you get light-headed or dizzy, you might want to consider getting off this diet. You never want to risk your health.

Recipe

Use this only as a guide.  If you would like more carrots, add them.  If you cannot stand mushrooms, leave them out.  Just do not add anything that is not listed.

- 6 large green onions
- 2 green peppers
- 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
- 3 carrots
- 1 container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms
- 1 bunch celery
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 1 package Lipton soup mix
- 1 or 2 cubes bouillon (optional)
- 1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)

Season with salt, pepper, parsley, garlic powder, etc. to your tastes

Safety First

Before starting any diet, please weigh your reasoning for doing it. Are you just wanting to lose a couple of pounds? Are you wanting to jumpstart your overall diet? Are you needed something to help get you off the plateau you’ve found? Or are you needing huge quick results because you are impatient? This diet is good for all but the last question asked. Please don’t ever fall for any diet that promises huge results quickly. It is not healthy for our bodies. Talk to your doctor before any program and see what is best for you. We would like to keep you around a bit longer.
